I. If You Did Not Love

A. You Do Not Know God

I Jo 4:8 “8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
B. If You Love Darkness, Your Deeds Are Evil
John 3:19 “19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
C. Jesus Knows You and If You Have Not the Love of God in You
John 5:40-42 “40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.”
II. We Are to Love
A. We Are to Love the Lord Your God With All Your Heart
Matt 22:37 “37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
B. By Honoring Our Father and Mother, We Show Our Love to Them
C. We Are to Love Our Neighbor as Yourself
Matt 19:19 “19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
D. We Are to Love Our Enemies, Bless Them That Curse You, and Pray for Those Despitefully Persecute You
Matt 5:44 “44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
E. Jesus Gave Us a New Commandment, That We Love Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ
John 13:34 “34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
III. We Show Our Love to Jesus by:
A. By Keeping Jesus’s Commandments
John 14:15 “15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
B. By Keeping Jesus’s Words
John 14:23 “23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:
C. God the Father Will Love You for It
and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
D. We Will Abode with Him in Heaven
and make our abode with him.”
E. We Are to Love Without Dissimulation: Concealment of one’s thoughts, or character pretense
Rom 12:9 “9 Let love be without dissimulation.
Abhor: inspiring disgust,loathing, repugnant,
Abhor that which is evil;
F. Cleave to That Which is Good
cleave to that which is good.”
