Truth

Jesus is the source of ALL truth. He taught the the truth is determined by God’s Word.

John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 1:17 ESV
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Psalm 119:160 ESV
The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
John 1:1–2 ESV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14 ESV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Post-Truth

The increasing reliance on emotional appeals and personal opinions and beliefs rather than facts or evidence, especially when discussing public matters or political or religious issues.

Romans 3:3–4 ASV
For what if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God? God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.
Acts 26:9 ASV
I verily thought with myself that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Paul here is using physiological confidence to determine truth

The Importance and Value of Truth from a Biblical World-view.

Past generations have looked to a source outside themselves -- namely God and the Bible -- for determining morality and truth.
But a new study from the Cultural Research Center (CRC) at Arizona Christian University shows that some 58% of Americans surveyed no longer believe this, and instead say it's up to the individual to decide what is true or moral.
Biblical truth sets the standard of morality and provides guidance, wisdom in life and clarity to difficult decisions.

The Consequences Of Rejecting Truth

Rejecting biblical truth can cause an individual to become more vulnerable to sin, its effects, and the lies and deception of the enemy.
Rejection of biblical truth can lead to spiritual death and distance from God, depriving a person from the hope and joy available from a relationship with Christ.

God gave you free-will to choose and practice what you consider to be “truth”

However, you do not have the freedom to alter the consequences of your choice

Jeremiah 10:23 ESV
I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
Proverbs 14:12 ESV
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

A Believer’s obligation to God’s Word

1. Know It

2 Timothy 2:15 ESV
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

2. Obey It

1 John 5:2 ESV
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.

3. Speak It

Ephesians 4:25 ESV
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

4. Live It

Galatians 5:24–25 NET
Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit.
