A Profession from the Lord
The importance of knowing who Jesus the Christ is has never been greater than the current space we are in.
Rise in Religious nones and decline in Christianity
In a recent article an artist known as Plum who used to sing songs to a God of truth, justice, mercy, and love professed her devotion to Jesus, now is on a path to deconstruct Christianity. In her statement, she declares she is now able to ask questions she once was terrified of asking. While I question who discipled her one resounding issue arises… Pulpits across the country are abandoning the call to preach truth especially when preaching truth will cost them their fame.
People such as the Franciscan Priest Richard Rohr are now intent of deconstructing what he profess is a post-Constantine Christianity that has oppressed the people of God. His vision is more akin to New Age spiritualism and hedonism that promotes the self as God in its most succinct tenets defies Jesus and professes:
1. Redefining Sin (Placing us as divine only having forgotten somehow we are divine)
2. Denial of Absolute Truth (Relativism over Absolute Objective truth and morality)
3. Acceptance of Jesus. denial as Him being the only way to salvation ( We can Save ourselves and are not in need of Him) Sacrificing Jesus is tantamount to Child Abuse
4. Denial of the authority of the Bible
5. It’s all about me. (Jesus when He says I am the way the truth and the light no one comes to the father except through ME is a reference not to Himself but we have the ability.
6. Universalism- All roads will eventually lead to Heaven
Today we are bearing witness to the deconstruction of Christianity the establishment of progressive Christianity, a rise of an abandonment of Christianity…
The reason I believe is as a result to How we want to define Jesus as opposed to accepting Jesus as He has defined Himself

Jesus is defined by His word, the witness of the Father and of the Holy Spirit.

John 8:54–58 ESV
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
Heated exchange between The Religious Groups
Charge for being Demon Possessed
Does not Rest on His own account but puts on the testimony of the Father which He has known
You dont have to open your mouth there is one that is testifying and will speak
Jesus declares to have been present with Abraham and have been even before Abraham
they relied on tradition and things imposed by man
Abraham spoke and saw because he believed
didn't rest on the account of another.

On the Account of 2 or 3 Witnesses

In Deuteronomy we note that a charge against another must be on the account of two or three witnesses.
Jesus and the Father testify about the Son.
John 8:17–18 ESV
In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.”
Deconstruction of Christianity is intent on blurring the image of Jesus to progress acceptance and tolerance of doctrines that are eviscerating the church rendering it useless.
There is another who is testifying and the reason why it should be two or three and not just one.
John 15:25–26 ESV
But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’ “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
The Holy Spirit also testifies of the Son…
Do away with the witness of the Father, and of the Son, The Holy Spirit then speaks
v.27 You must bear witness
ch.16 v.1-3 your witness will cost you and when you speak truth they will throw you out of.... you guessed it the church.
To know the truth of Christ I think it important to what He said Himself to be, as is testified by the Father and the Holy Spirit

Who He Says He Is

The Bread of Life
John 6:48–51 ESV
I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
He declares not that we should concern ourselves with what or where or provision will come as He is the bread that sustains… His Body
The Light of the World
John 8:12 ESV
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Apart from Him there is no light… to blur Him out of the picture is to love darkness and embrace ambiguity
The Door
John 10:7–9 ESV
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
There is no other way… He is the only door… but we must know Him
Place of protection (made of stone)
The Good Shepherd
John 10:11–15 ESV
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
The tempest will rage and we are told of How Jesus lays down His life as a good Shepherd
The same will be asked of any who dare to lead His people
The Resurrection and the Life
John 11:25–26 ESV
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Believe in Him not make Him what you want to believe
The Way The Truth and The Life
John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Not all roads will lead to salvation some will condemn you to Hell but in Christ alone there is life
The True Vine
John 15:1–2 ESV
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
There is only one Jesus Christ… not many...
It is possible to have the temptation to impose on Jesus an image that is not His. In these spaces we can look to what Jesus has said about Himself and believe it to be true as the Father and the Holy Spirit testify
There is an affront that is plaguing the church, a Jesus that is not found in scripture, it persuades the church to abandon the very things the Lord has declared Him to be.
His definition supersedes my thoughts and emotions as He is defined. We long to encounter our Jesus and embrace each quality of His in this life long endeavor to know our Jesus our God
