Somewhere To Belong

Story of going to the party with The Gate Church

Being A Place For The Community.

When we are saved we should want to the people around to know about the Good news that we have found.
Luke 5:27–31 NIV
After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
Matthew called Levi here was a tax col. he was hated by his people and seen as a sinner, someone not to be around, and guess who he invited, OTHER Sinners
I feel that God has laid it on my heart to have this Church a place that the community can come too.
Lets get people through those doors. Lets host “banquets” .
Lets get the lost, found.
We can’t stop there

We Need To Go Out Into Our Community

Matthew 28:18–20 NIV
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Too often we shy away from sharing our faith and inviting people to know Jesus.
We need to be sharing our faith handing people the keys to their relationship with Christ
Now I will warn you, when we reach out and people come through those doors, often they will look different, act different, and not understand many of the things we do. Much like Matthew and his guest, that is why the Pharisees had issues, and

We Need To Make Sure We Have The Heart Of Jesus And Not The Judgement Of The Pharisees

I think something our Church does so well is to welcome people, and make new comers feel welcome and at home, we just need to make sure that we keep that.
The reason I bring this up is because, when we are making an impact in our community for Christ, the devil we attack, and an easy target is how people are when they come to Church the first time .
People with blue and purple hair might walk through the door, people with different lifestyles may come through those door, homeless, lost, and fallen people will come through those doors, and we have to have the Heart of Christ and show love, and compassion to them.

We Were Never Meant To Hold Onto The Keys To Heaven, But To Share Them.
