1 Peter 2:9 CSB
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Colossians 1:12 CSB
giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.

But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted.

Ephesians 1:4 CSB
For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

Chosen generation:
Who? not a people but now we are God’s people.
We are not accidents, but a choice.
He chose us not because of our accomplishments, but because of His.
We are His workmanship in Christ. We don’t need to strive to do, to be something, to be good enough. We need to who we are and do what we are created to do.
What are we chosen for? To show forth the praises...this is our chosen purpose...to do works He created us to do.
1. Chosen...by God.
2. Qualified by God..or enabled us to partake in the inheritance not by education, ordination, election, or perfect past.
3. Empowered... us by the Holy Spirit.
Why are we chosen?
For His purpose…
Our gifts and calling all come for God according to as it pleases Him. Not how we identify or want to be used, but He calls us as it pleases Him. We are His workmanship, created for good works, that He has prepared for us ahead of time. What I am prepared(chosen) for is not what you are prepared(chosen) for.
We all have a purpose...
He Chose us
He redeemed us
He adopted us
He enabled us
He set us in the body as it pleases Him...
We must choose to fulfill His/our purpose…Have the same attitude as Jesus.
Philippians 2:12-18 “Therefore, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world, by holding firm to the word of life. Then I can boast in the day of Christ that I didn’t run or labor for nothing. But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrificial service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. In the same way you should also be glad and rejoice with me.”
1. Discovering our purpose is as a process…work out your salvation.
Amplified bible
12 So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. 13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13
2. Desire - What we pursue is what we really desire. What is the source of our desire? What is our motivation? Flesh, selfish ambition, pride, personal satisfaction…He gives us the desire, we must work it out through humility, obedience, and willingness. Attitude…remember He chose us and we are His workmanship.
3. Determination - Our decision and choices always determine our destination in life. We can’t really determine our destiny, but we can determine our decisions. Problems, people, and influences will try to determine our direction, but we must choose to pursue His purpose not our own or let someone else determine what I do today and going forward. Baggage we carry will affect our walk.
4. Discipline - doing it daily. Working out. Praying, seeking, studying, doing…just standing around and going to the gym will not produce anything, being a member but not showing up won’t help us at all.
5. Sacrifice - we will always sacrifice something. What are we willing to sacrifice is the question? Giving up something for something else. This is in every area of our life.
It is not a competition my purpose is not your purpose, and visa versa. I can’t judge you and you can’t judge me. We don’t need to compare based on our purpose. You do you and I do me. As long as we are pleasing God!
When we are walking in our purpose...
There is fulfillment
We are rewarded
Others are always blessed and ministered to
God is glorified
