Called to Serve

Deut. 18:1-2

Christians are the priests of God separated (holy) for His use (Rev.1:6), who have been called out of this world into the Body of Christ.

                               I.      We have no earthly inheritance, our inheritance is the Lord.

The Levitical priesthood is the perfect type of the priesthood of believers, who have no earthly inheritance.

Believers are to live their lives here with an eye on Heaven.

A.    Our treasure is where our heart is.

B.     God has given us all things in Christ. Rom. 8:32

II.      Our business is not the world’s business, our business is God’s business.

A.  The world’s is motivated by greed.

B.  The world’s is the work of the flesh. (Gal.5:20)

C.  God’s is the business of love.

D.  God’s is the business of helps.

III.      We have been called to “temple service.”

A.    A service of mediation.

1.      Prayer

2.      Evangelism

B.     A service of dedication.

1.      To one another.

2.      To the Lord.

C.     A service of glorification.

1.      Through personal holiness.

2.      Through consecration.

Like the church in Stephanas’ house in 1 Cor. 16:15, They addicted themselves to the ministry…

3.      Through humility.

4.      Through selflessness.
