Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Philippians 1:12-14

Scripture

Phil. 1:12-14Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.

Pray

God to give me the words
New school year/ students being nervous
New principal

Story

Name a time in your life that you were hyper focused on and magnified a small problem to make it seem like a big one

Application

As long as the Gospel is preached, Paul is set.
Do we look at Jesus that way?
What is your prison?
To Magnify Christ Means to Show the Magnitude of His Value To You
Exalted = Magnified
Faith Does The Magnifying
Faith is the confidence or trust that we put in a person who has given us cause to think that he is reliable and is able and willing to help us in our need.
Do we feel that about God?

Story 2

A possible time which you were living for a different reason or purpose and how that affected your life

Supporting Scripture

Phil. 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Application 2

To Live in Christ Means to Live By and For Faith in Christ.
If you feel like you are Paul in prison and something is holding you back, bring it to God In
Christ there is freedom from those things. Talk to me or a leader and pray with them.
If faith does the magnifying, think about some ways we can either physically show or mentally show your faith in Jesus, more than what you are doing right now.
Think about some of the things that you value and show off. How can you do that with Jesus?
Showing others your faith in Jesus sometimes is the best way to share Jesus. Sometimes you don’t even need words.
Thought of the Week: When your faith is visible, Jesus is visible.
Questions: What do you think are some ways in which you can magnify Christ in your life?
What are some ways you can show your faith to others? How can we do that?

Pray

Jesus help us to make our faith visible
