I. A Better Conscience vs. 9b-10

A. These sacrifices appeased the worshipper’s conscience, but it couldn’t save them. (Another $20 in the offering plate ex)
B. People often feel like they owe it to God to earn their salvation. Yet we are to work out of love, not a guilty conscience trying to pay back to God.
C. These rituals only dealt with the outward look, not the inside. Religion cleans up the outside, but does nothing to the inside. Because of a relationship with Jesus we can be forgiven of our sins.

II. A Better Tabernacle vs. 11

A. The Tabernacle not made by hand is the one is the one in Heaven (vs. 24) Rev. 18:17
Revelation 18:17 NASB95
for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’ And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance,
B. Jesus offered His perfect sacrifice on Golgotha hill, and in Heaven’s temple/tabernacle.
C. Jesus did this to show that His sacrifice was better. He was the scapegoat, and the sacrificial lamb.

III. A Better Bloodline vs. 12

A. Goats and calves, and lambs were required by law, but they were created. Their blood could not atone for sin, since they had been marred by a sin cursed world!
B. Jesus’ blood was perfect/divine. Because of His godly perfection Jesus and only Jesus could atone for our sins.
