Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
What is the difference in being a believer of Jesus and being a disciple?
You know I have taught from these scriptures to you guys a lot but recently I had somewhat of a more in depth understanding of it.
Jesus did not say go make people believe in me he said go make disciples.
A disciple is someone who is a learner of Jesus.
One who seeks to know God intimately and walk with God closely
So it our job to make disciples. we all know we share the gospel with someone so that they may be saved but how can we go the next step, how can we make disciples?
Jesus even continues in verse 20 by saying teach them to observe what I have commanded.
You see what we are seeing here is that Jesus didn’t simple want people to tell of him but he wanted people to develop relationships with others around him.
He wanted followers of his to really change peoples lives.
One of the biggest failures of todays Christians is we tell people about Jesus and then we kick them to the curb.
It becomes a mentality where we say “Ok I have done my job”
But their is more to it then that.
What needs to change in us before we can disciple someone else?
What would be the perfect disciple?
