Is Love the Cross?
1 Corinthians 13 contains some of the most famous words about love ever written. In this what love truly is, and it is so important. Of all the gifts God has given us, nothing is bigger than His love!
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Love is not theoretical
Love is not theoretical
something only to be pondered or written about. Instead, love is an action. It rushes to those in need, swoops them up, and brings them life!
(The Gospels): The greatest act of love the world will ever know,is Jesus on the Cross.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Jesus (after being flogged, mocked and forced to wear a crown of thorns) gave his life on a Roman cross. But Jesus did this willingly, he died to pay for the sins of all mankind!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
True love sacrifices. Or as Jesus says in
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
