Say it with me
First off, does this say sometimes?
No, all the time.
How is that possible?
What are some of your guys ideas?
Doing everything in the name of the Lord Jesus might seem simple.
Just give thanks and say you’re doing it for God.
That is a step and that is a start.
As we will talk in the morning, our minds have to be in the right space and think what is good.
Doing everything in the name of the Lord goes a bit further.
There are key words here:
We are doing it in the name of Jesus
Why do we do these things for Jesus?
Because we sinned and sin makes us guilty.
Thankfully, Christ came to save us, taking our punishment on the cross as we repent, He forgives.
By His grace, a gift we don’t deserve, are we saved.
Think of one thing you’ve done wrong, and if you think you haven’t, that’s a sin right there, pride.
So because of this we do it all for Him.
Now what does that look like:
Think of tasks in your day:
When you go to school, how can we do it in the name of Jesus and give thanks?
When you’re hanging out with friends...
When you’re at Church…(don’t just go for friends and fellowship)
Sports or music or theater
Video games
Eating and drinking
Chores, responsibilities at home
Work
Your freetime
Doing things in the name of Jesus and Loving Him means we also need to omit things for Jesus.
But if I truly love Berkley and truly love my wife, what do you expect me to not do?
What do you expect out of your best friends?
(Not gossip, talk bad about you, stay silent when someone talks bad about you, etc.)
How can you see that relate to God?
Don’t sin: Don’t get addicted to anything.
Social Media is ruining our minds more and more.
Not a lot of studies because it hasn’t been out for that long.
Don’t get angry or mad or frustrated
Everything that you do, do it for God.
And if the thing that you’re about to do, isn’t going to glorify God, don’t do it.
I’ve been praying for you all and some of you may not know Jesus, some of you haven’t gotten baptized and maybe God is putting on your heart to be bold for Him and show the Church that you are not afraid to say you are a Christian.
Let’s be honest and humble and do it all for Jesus.
