This is a partnership

Reminds me of my own days as an intern
What advice can I apss on to Luke as he begins his internship?
Looking back, I realised that while the internship was so important in my own formation, it wasn’t actually about me.
What made a success of my time in Rotorua was the partnership we had together in the gospel.
Right from teh beginning, I was made to feel welcome by the congregation. They invited me into their lives and their community.
I was blessed with a mentoring minister who encouraged me in my sterngths and challenged me in the areas I needed to grow.
I was wrapped around by supervisors and tutors and lecturers, staff from Knox, and colleagues from Presbytery.
It wasn’t just that this allowed me to thrive in my first steps in ministry, it allowed us to thrive. Together.

This is a calling

So, together, this is a calling. for Luke, for his family, but also for all of us together.

This is God’s story

2 Corinthians 5:18–21 NIV
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
