If you will remember in Luke 7:11-12 Jesus was entering
Luke 7:11–12 NASB95
11 Soon afterwards He went to a city called Nain; and His disciples were going along with Him, accompanied by a large crowd. 12 Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her.
Matthew 9:18 NASB95
18 While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”

I. The Impossible

The Messenger gave and accurate and truthful message according to the natural world....it’s too late.
A. Do you trust God with with impossible? Have been withholding your impossible prayers from God?
Our faith is not always about how God Answers our prayers, but more so how we trust God’s answer.
B. The girl had been dead long enough for mourners, this is kind of reminds me of Lazarus .
Matthew 9:23–24 NASB95
23 When Jesus came into the official’s house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24 He said, “Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.
the funeral had already begun… according to Jewish law, when someone died there had to be at least on hired mourner and musician… since he was most likely wealthy there were probably many mourners and musicians.
Mourners would not only cry name of the person who died but they also call out the name of family members how had before.
The family would tear a hole in their robe and then for 30 days they would wear that robe and it would have a small piece of thread to loosely stitch the hole closed but opened enough so that people would know they are mourning.
Have you ever wondered how a family can go from weeping to laughing just moments after this young girl has died… it was not family it was hire mourners.

II. Faith on the Bad Days.

A. Do not be afraid any longer…
a. This most likely is the worst day of this man’s life… The thought of hid daughter lying there lifeless…fear that Jesus stopped to talked to the woman who had been bleeding rather than walking straight to the house… and now fear that Jesus was too late to heal… she was dead and one thing we know for certain is death is final!
b. But Jesus say… DO NOT BE AFRAID ANY LONGER! ONLY JESUS CAN SAY THIS AND BACK IT UP!
B. Only believe.
a. Trust me!!! when you came to meet me she was sick and now she is dead… don’t lose faith, don’t stop believing.
b. I believe this is a statement we all need to hear.
C. She will be made well.
a. Jesus is faithful to do what only Jesus can do!

III. Resurrection Power

A. He took her by the hand and said, “child, arise”
a.He spoke and her heart began to beat, moving blood through out her body, hey lungs began to breath again…in that moment the result of sin which leads to death was delayed...
b. Luke says, “her spirit returned”
a. when we die, out spirit departs from us. Luke is making sure the reader understands that this girl was fully dead to the point that Jesus returned her spirit to her.
Ezekiel 36:26–27 NASB95
26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.
