Today we are looking at what happened with Stephen, often called the first martyr of the church, in that he was the first to die for proclaiming salvation through Jesus Christ.
As we look at the account of what took place with Stephen, there is a lot we can take away from it for our own lives.
So today, I won’t be focusing on the long sermon he gave, which is one of the longest sermons recorded in Acts.
Instead, we want to focus on Stephen, and what was it that made him such a great man.
We want to see how we can follow in Stephen’s footsteps as he followed in Christ’s.
To do this, we want to review what we saw last week, when we were first introduced to Stephen.
For what was Stephen known?
Known has to do with his reputation.

How did he do it?
He was full of the Spirit and wisdom.
Because he allowed the Spirit to lead him, he bore the fruit of the Spirit.
That is what we are going to see happening in his life as we continue.
Full of Grace and power

They could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him
Pay attention to the charges:

Stephen’s response:

Moses rejected but God...
