Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same The Lord’s name is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the Lord our God, Who dwelleth on high,
Title: More Evil than Satan, Stronger Than God
Who is like Jesus?
Is their any stronger than he?
What are some attributes of God?
We all know and believe the power of God.
We are well versed in the understanding of spiritual warfare.
The act of advancing the kingdom…
Waring powers, each trying to establish their dominance.
Who/what is more powerful than God?
BUT, if God is so powerful, why is there warfare?
Free Will + Sin = War and Chaos
God is a God of rules…
When man chose sin, we entered into a war...
Who are the contenders?
Satan?
Luke 10:18 KJV 1900
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Satan is no more a problem to God than a simple command…
HE MUST OBEY.
The battle is NOT between God and Satan BUT me, satan and God.
My flesh is the problem, not God, not satan.
I can literally override the power of God by my decisions!
Or… I can literally override the evil of satan by my decisions!
The problem with flesh is: stubbornness
Psalm 32:9 KJV 1900
Be ye not as the horse, Or as the mule, which have no understanding: Whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, Lest they come near unto thee.
Psalm 78:7–8 KJV 1900
That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation; A generation that set not their heart aright, And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
What is stubbornness (biblical context)
Desire to please yourself rather than God.
Stubbornness in people:
A stubborn person will always manipulate others for their own benefit.
Stubborn people are never wrong.
Stubborn people always have an excuse.
Stubborn people always have an agenda.
Stubborn people are selfish
The idea is more important than the reality.
The Spirit of Stubbornness:
Stubbornness is rooted in pride and arrogance.
Stubbornness will destroy others for personal gain.
Stubbornness will persist to the point of self destruction.
The tradition is more important than the victory.
Stubbornness leads to destruction.
It can be a righteous stubbornness… Alamo
Everyone dies at the Alamo BUT it set the path for San Jacinto
So how do we know it its a righteous stubbornness?
If you persist it will likely be a rough time but will always produce victory… even if it kills you, others will live on because of your sacrifice.
Every other kind of stubbornness will consume all, even every future victory.
There is no room for personal sacrifice in stubbornness.
Matthew 6:33 KJV 1900
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Conclusion:
Everyone struggles with stubbornness...
Why?
Flesh is out of control...
Opposite of stubbornness? Humility
Humility is not thinking less of yourself but think less of yourself!
Stubborn people view everything for the perspective of me, how it affects me, my kingdom.
Humble people view everything from the perspective of what is best for you, and the Kingdom!
