John 8:3–11 KJV 1900
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Access granted
My brothers and sisters, I believe we are living in a very knowledgeable society, we have access to knowledge everywhere we turn.
My brother sister knowledge is very valuable by all means get as much knowledge as possible. as a matter of fact the Bible says that people perish because is lock of knowledge.
However, my brothers and sisters we must be careful that dint allow our knowledge make us judgmental of others,
Our know how, can make us judgementsl of those who don’t do it like us.
Our knowledge of self can make us judgemental of those who are not like us.
Our biblical knowledge and understanding can make us judgemental of those who may not view view it as us.
Our knowledge of worship, can make us judgemental of those who don’t worship as us.
I believe my brothers and sisters often times in church we call discernment but it’s really judgmental. He didn’t hear their accusations—-
Some people who may know things about you that’s trying to accuse you he ain’t hearing it
6th verse 👆🏾
It was something that she was caught in the very act of in other words she was definitely guilty.
The value of the lesson is that the request was not granted..
Jesus request was he that is without sin…
He didn’t say he that never sinned.. Je was preferring to the present.
In other words all of them had some flaws
Is there anyone that’s glad that he lives us with flaws and all Beyoncé
They were convicted by their own conscience
Jesus did not condemn her neither could anyone else
She was in a better condition because she allowed Jesus. Met him.
And he forgave her sins
The others left without
According to the law she deserves to be stoinned
Thank God for grace
Where was the man
During those times only the Roman government could try capital cases.
Which means Jesus probably would have been in the wrong if he was to judge this woman.
If he would have freed her he would have been in violation with the mosaic law. 10 commandments
Thou shall not
According to the Law she was supposed to be put to death
The Pharisees braught this woman to church to throw rocks at her.
How many knownthe church is not a place to throw rocks at the people.
It’s a place to show grace as Jesus.
They looked at as what she did wrong without looking at their own shortcomings.
Truth of the matter is none of can ever judge anyone.
Because we all have our shortcomings.
They looked at it from a religious standpoint.
Jesus looked at it from a place of Grace.
Change your perspective.
We often look at Jesus as some of the religious folks.
Because people will throw rocks,
But anybody glad he is not like man.
He is seeking to forgive…
Sometimes we have to change our perspective from stones to forgiveness…
If he could forgive this woman..
If he could forgive me.
I can forgive others
I know sometimes we won’t to put the story about the woman…but the main character in the story was Jesus, why because Jesus was caught between a rock and a hard place….However when in doubt he showed grace.
He put the situation back on them, so in other words Jesus was saying look at your own selves and if you feel you are worthy to condemn her go ahead..
A lot of times the truth of the matter is when we look at my own selves I aint got room to be worried about nobody else. Tell somebody Im working on me.
The only one that could stone this lady was the ones who were eye witnesses. However they themselves were gone and it was just her and Jesus.
Sometimes you got to get to a place when its just you and Jesus
The older ones left first and put their rocks down and left and then all of them left..
They were more interesting in destroying Jesus then they were saving her…
Sometimes we are so into church destroying one another than saving someone else.
Jesus dismissed the woman by saying, “Go now and leave your life of sin.” Meeting a man who was interested in saving rather than exploiting and in forgiving rather than condemning must have been a new experience for her. Jesus’ attitude provided both the motivation and the assurance she needed. Forgiveness demands a clean break with sin. That Jesus refrained from condemning her was a guarantee that he would support her.
Kenneth L. Barker, Expositor’s Bible Commentary (Abridged Edition: New Testament) (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House, 1994), 322.
Jesus liked to use parables to illustrate various aspects of forgiveness. During his conversation with Peter, Jesus told the parable of the unforgiving servant (Mt 18:23-35). Luke’s gospel has a series of five forgiveness parables:  the barren fig tree (Lk 13:6-9); the bent over woman (Lk 13:10-13); the lost sheep (Lk 15:4-7); the lost coin (Lk15:8-10); and the greatest forgiveness parable of all, the prodigal son (Lk 15:11-32).
Jesus was extremely kind and merciful in the way that he forgave those who sinned against others. Jesus told the paralytic, “Child, your sins are forgiven” (Mk 2:5); when a sinful woman bathed Jesus’ feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair, Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven” (Lk 7:48); when a woman caught in adultery was brought before him, he said, “I do not condemn you” (Jn 8:11); and as Jesus hung on the cross he told the repentant criminal, “Today you will be with me in paradise” (Lk 23:43).
Even more compelling is the way that Jesus forgave those who sinned against him directly. For Jesus, forgiveness was not an automatic, it was intentional, a conscious choice. After the Roman soldiers had scourged and nailed him, Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them” (Lk 23:34). After the resurrection Jesus had every right to be furious. Peter had denied him. The others had deserted him. When he entered the Upper Room, they deserved a severe reprimand, but instead, with divine compassion Jesus said not once but three times, “Peace be with you” (Jn 20:19,21,26).
Secret sinners love to kill an exposed sinner
This takes us back to Moses on Mount Sinai when Moses was totally alone on top of the mountain to get the ten commandments.
Only the prophet Moses was present when God wrote on the rock with His finger.
In the absence of any prophet, Jesus just ignored everyone as He re-enacted that great scene.
What on earth is Jesus trying to tell them, and us?
They are trying to catch Him out on a clever technical question concerning the Law of Moses. The ten commandments mention adultery. So this is the crux of the issue.
Using His finger to write in the ground refers us back to the finger of God Who wrote the ten commandments onto stone tablets when He was the Father above the Jews.
“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV

You see that the grace of God is more than salvation but also everything we need for life and godliness. The definition of grace could be “God's life, power and righteousness given to us by unmerited favor.” It is through grace that God works effective change in our hearts and lives.Jan 19, 2019
grace, in Christian theology, the spontaneous, unmerited gift of the divine favour in the salvation of sinners, and the divine influence operating in individuals for their regeneration and sanctification.
