In the beginning

Found in Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth—” and John quotes it and expands on it in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
There is always a beginning a middle and an end to all things that God has created, let’s continue in Genesis and see what kind of God we serve.
Ruach Elohim Genesis 1:2 “Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” The King James version tells us that “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”. The original language tells us of a God who is very interested in his creation. He didn’t just create this universe, the galaxies, our galaxy, our solar system and abandon us. Interesting to note that whether it is the Spirit of God moving over the surface of the waters or over the face of the deep. Think on this, the two most common element in the universe are hydrogen and helium. In fact the ten most common elements in the universe are the following: hydrogen, helium, oxygen, carbon, neon, iron, nitrogen, silicon, magnesium, and sulfur. Let me ask you a question; what is water comprised of? H20 right? So, each molecule of water contains one atom of Oxygen and two atoms of Hydrogen. So, now the scriptures can come a little more alive to you, he looked on the elements of his creation and touche them, spoke to them and out of that touch and breath came life, came the stars, came the galaxies, came our sun, our solar system, you and I carbon based life forms, there are other elements inside of us, but one of the most common elements of the universe is inside of us. After that formation, God wanted to interact with us.
A quote, an allusion
If you ever spend any time studying the writings of John, whether it be the Gospel of John, the Letters of John or the Book of Revelation, you will find that John not only quotes the Old Testament, he alludes to it and he brings clear understanding and he also launches polemics against the pagan deities of his day.
Look at John 3:19 “And this is the judgment: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.”
1 John 1:1 “What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life—”
Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, the All-Powerful.” I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8
He still wants to walk with us, He still heals, He still changes lives, He still wants to breath on us his Spirit, He wants to fill us with his Spirit
