Esther 4:15-16 - 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, 16 “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

Knowing Whats In
Knowing Whats In
In Esther 1:1 starts off just like a story around the table, when someone wants to tell you their perspective. “It started in” is the same way we talk about when we want to explain why something is.
Today you can find many trends, hot topics, who’s who, places to go, hotspots, and etc.... how, you can look it up on google, FaceBook, Twitter, IG, and many in the now websites. Or you can watch it on TV in the movies and so forth.
But what happens when we do something that is not on that last of the cool? Sometimes it depends on who is doing it, how it came about, things like that.
Breaking the law was even a cool trend when I was growing up. Things such as underage drinking, drugs, racing, stealing, pirating CD and DVDs. Now what is interesting about that, is that as we progress further when things are trending for “cool reasons” the land tends to amend to it.
Now there is so much streaming services for so cheap everywhere you go, people dont need to pirate they can just watch anything anywhere.
if there is a profit to be made, they start legalizing things to make it less risque
But what about when something breaks the normal and you become the talk of the town for breaking the trends?
My Way VS God’s Way
My Way VS God’s Way
In Esther 1 we read about Queen Vashti, who was doing her own thing and when asked to be a part of the trend and do as the king obeyed. But in Vs 12 she refused to go! She didn’t want to go show herself off, she was happy in her “own” state.
She disobeyed going against the trend for her own purpose, her own glory. Then the kings advisers saw it as a threat, and boom she was gone
When something is a threat to the normal, Especially normal sin, the devil fights back.
But when it is done for our own self pride, self will, self law.... her trend was banished so that it wouldn’t break the trend of the normal
Esther who is going with the flow, being obedient to God and the Law of the Land. She finds herself in a crazy situation. She becomes Queen and this is all by doing God’s will and following the law of land, following trend or suit as some may say.
But when the devil tries to interfere because God’s people are in the position the devil dont want, he tries to attack. He uses his resources of the weak, to be an influence around those who will listen.....are you listening today?
But when it comes to break the trends of the law with obedience of God, VS 15-16 - God seals the trend. The seal is there, with our faith as the glue to the seal.
Dont compromise your faith
Dont compromise your faith
Do not give up who are you because its not cool. Do not give in to trends because its what everyone is doing. Do not compromise your faith because you see others doing so. 1 Cor 15:58 says to "Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord."
Your faith is your faith, it can not be like mine. But if God is calling you to do something that may seem unpopular in your surroundings, your situation, around your people. Maybe because the things that surround you are trying to keep you there and wanting you to set a new trend, a new way of life, ..... in faith
If you have to ask if its wrong, its already wrong. If God tells you to move, move. But do not compromise who you are, what your calling is, for trends of this world. Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
It may sound easies said than done, but this world is the devil’s playground. Do not bend to the things because your comfortable. Some of our best moves we do, make us uncomfortable, and if God’s leading it.... Then who can be against you if the Lord is for you.
