Sanctification: to be made holy
Verses:
Phil 2:12-18
,
Matthew 11:25-30
,
- work out your salvation with fear and trembling
Big idea: how do we individually work out our salvation and walk the process of sanctification?
1. Sanctification is a personal Journey
Movement towards more freedom
Exploring new ideas of the free that comes with a life with Christ
It's said that we can not battle what we are not yet ready to battle. ("Git gud")
Seeking salvation is is an act of humility, continue towalk in that same humility in sanctification.
Be ready to enter the challenge of growth.
- growth takes courage
- growth pains are present in sanctification
- growing can mean letting things go as well as picking things up
2. Helping others
- if you want to help others ask discovery questions
Seeking new discoveries for them empowers their journey
Advice is more empowering to you then to them.
- it provides your discoveries and experiences but lack emotional/physical/ and spiritual connection to the one you are trying to help
- be weary of judging areas people are not yet ready to explore.
