Love Differently

Colossians 3:17 ESV

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

What does Love truly look like as a Christian, a child of God?

Colossians 3:9–13 ESV

9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

What is the reality of sin?

Last night we hopefully burned the secret sin, but I hope it doesn’t stay secret. During our discussion time, we are going to talk and I pray that you find boldness to open up about it. The best advantage a secret sin has over you is that it’s secret. God wants us to share our sin to one another so that we might help each other.

What is Love?

Matthew 22:37–40 ESV

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

V9 - We read part of this verse last night but we must. Do not lie, this is easy to understand. Why is lying wrong?

Put off the Old Self

Shadows the old self consist of?

Verse 10 - Renewed in knowledge in the created of God.

Put on the New Self

On the surface, being made of the image of God probably makes no sense.

Verse 11 - All the barriers are down now with Jesus. He unifies us. Doesn’t matter where your from or what you are.

What are some factors that divide you at school?

Verse 12 - Now the best thing to do is to replace it with these things

We need to be a family

It starts with us here, support one another.
