The 5 Bees

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness..

Be Organized, Obedient, Optimistic, Orchestrated, and Occupied.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God, the Good Lord gave me a message to give to the Church. And for a little while let’s explore 5 words Everybody say 5 Words.

1.Be Organized

2. Be Obedient,

3. Be Optimistic

4. Be Orchestrated and

5. Be Occupied.

About 47 years ago When I was a senior at South Terrebonne High School my teacher English Teacher, the late great Mrs. G .G. Verrett, taught us that we had to be organized. We had to be organized especially if we were going to try to make something decent out of ourselves in life. When you are Organized folk will get behind your plan, even if they’re not that crazy about you. They know that you have a plan. Because in the book of Acts the Apostles were Organized Look at Acts 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

When you’re organized things have a tendency to steer in the right direction.. So what exactly does it mean to Be Organized? To Be organized means to cause to develop and form into an arrangeble coherent Unity or functioning whole. The book of Acts tells that they were all with one accord. “I don’t care how many smart people there are in here, if we can’t form a coherent functioning Unity among the brothers and sisters we are not going to make far together.”

There was a story about man who had 5 strong mules. and the Mules were about to pull a heavy load. “When the man said Yah Mules, Them mules broke out in 5 different directions and pull the wagon completely a loose and all the produce was wasted on the ground.” Here’s the moral of the story the man should have Organized the Mules in such a way they would all pull in one direction at a time. If we don’t Organize and pull together we’re going to look koo koo. Because

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: This theme text says that the Christians of Paul’s day were taught to walk in the TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD. So BE ORGANIZED

Then 2. BE OBEDIENT Look at Ephesians 4:22  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

The Holy Spirit say to me plain as day, son if you want those people to be obedient you’re going to have to be obedient Me. You can’t be full of love, lust, and lies you’ve got to be holy. You can’t hook and crook you’ve got to be righteous. You can’t be slipping and sliding you’ve got to be on the straight and narrow. Preacher you represent Righteousness. Church, It can’t be do as I say but not as I do. Listen it ought to be Follow your Pastor as your Pastor Follows Christ. Because true Obedience means to be submissive to the commands of authority. It also mean to be compliant to the will and demands of your superior authority. Our Superior Authority is God Almighty.

Abraham in the book of Genesis in Chapter 12 Is one of the best examples of obedience that I ever saw. God spoke to Abraham and said leave the city of Haran in the land of Mesopotamia where your mama and daddy and other kinfolk are, and go to a land that I show you.I will make you a great nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through you and Abraham, I will bless you and I’ll curse anybody that mess with you. Abraham was obedient and God took Abraham to a land that flowed with milk and honey and the bible says that Abraham was considered to be a friend of God. I don’t know about you but I want to be a friend of God. Because if you talking about Jesus He’s a Friend of Mine.

Then 3. BE OPTIMISTIC because our theme text says in Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; We’ve got to open up our minds to new and exciting possibilities. There was a story about two trains everybody say two trains.There was a little train and a big locomotive train. In a world of personification somebody told the two trains go up a steep steep hill. The big locomotive said well I don’t about that, “That’s a steep steep hill and so the big locomotive tried to go up the hill, but half way up he doubted and started back down the hill. Then the little train that thought he could said it’s my turn. The little train backed up far far. He started saying I think I can I think I can.And the little train went right on up the steep hill. And everybody shouted for joy. They said it couldn’t be because of horsepower it had to be the little train’s Optimism. It had to be those 4 little words “I think I can”.

Tell your neighbor: I think I can

because the text says in Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; The bible says that Moses in the book of Exodus told 12 of the tribal leaders to go out and spy the land and come back and give a detailed report. Ten spies came back and said the land truly flows with milk and honey but we saw giants over there and we look like grasshoppers in our own eyes. And two spies, Joshua and Caleb said in essence y’all tripping man, Look ah here Moses! we are well able to go up and posses the Land. In other word we are Optimistic about Israel’s future. We are well able, “God said we can do it, and I believe the report of the Lord”. And I feel like Joshua and Caleb with a New Testament twist on it.Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. ( Even with impossible stuff I still say Is there anything too hard for God) Be Optimistic be hopeful about our future.

Then there is 4. Be Orchestrated it’s time out for waiting until everything comes your way to react. WE have to be proactive Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works saith the Lord.

We have to orchestrate our Prayer the bible says that men ought to always pray.

We ought to orchestrate our praise because the bible says Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

We ought to orchestrate our giving because the bible say we ought to give and it shall be given unto you press down shaken together and running over.

We ought to orchestrate Love because the bible says How can you say that you Love God whom you’ve never seen and hate your brothers and your sisters that you see everyday. Love ye one another as I have loved you.

We ought to orchestrate mercy because the bible says that The Lord mercy endures forever. The Lord didn’t give us what we truly deserve.

We ought to orchestrate grace because the bible says God told Paul that God’s Grace is sufficient for thee.

And we ought to orchestrate lovingkindness because if God could look past our faults and bless us anyhow then we can exhibit kindness with God’s Loving spirit towards your brothers and sisters.

And lastly we ought to orchestrate a process for learning the bible because we ought to be able to discern right doctrine from wrong doctrine.

Look at Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us. They make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path. 15 No! Speaking the truth with love, we will grow up in every way into Christ, who is the head.

Briefly let me unpack this exciting text. The Ephesian 4:14-15 text explains in essence that the Christian believer ought to get in a good bible based church where the word of God is proclaimed rightly. The Preacher Pastor teacher leader must be capable competent and charismatic enough to rightly divide the word of truth in such a way that when church member hear wrong doctrine they can recognize truth from fables. Because to Orchestrate means to arrange and direct elements of a situation to produce a desired effect especially surreptitiously.

Be Orchestrated and then more than that be an orchestrator that comes up with masterful orchestration that God will be pleased with.

And then there is 5. BE OCCUPIED in other words be ye doers of the word and not hearers only. We’ve got to be Occupied.

Tell your neighbor: We’ve got too be Occupied

Listen to the parable of the talents.In Matthew 25:13 “So always be ready, because you don’t know the day or the hour the Son of Man will come. This could be A Story About Three Servants, or a story about the parable of talents , or the parable of the gold . Verse 14 “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was going to another place for a visit. Before he left, he called for his servants and told them to take care of his things while he was gone. Occupy 15 He gave one servant five bags of gold occupy, another servant two bags of gold occupy, and a third servant one bag of gold occupy, to each one as much as he could handle occupy. Then he left. 16 The servant who got five bags went quickly to invest the money and earned five more bags Applied occupation. 17 In the same way, the servant who had two bags invested them and earned two more Applied Occupation. 18 But the servant who got one bag went out and dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money Unoccupied Disgrace. 19 “After a long time the master came home and asked the servants what they did with his money. 20 The servant who was given five bags of gold brought five more bags to the master and said, ‘Master, you trusted me to care for five bags of gold, so I used your five bags to earn five more.’ 21 The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good and loyal servant. Because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my joy with me A Rewarded Occupation .’22 “Then the servant who had been given two bags of gold came to the master and said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of gold to care for, so I used your two bags to earn two more.’ 23 The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good and loyal servant. Because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my joy with me.’ A Rewarded Occupation 24 “Then the servant who had been given one bag of gold came to the master and said, ‘Master, I knew that you were a hard man. You harvest things you did not plant. You gather crops where you did not sow any seed. 25 So I was afraid and went and hid your money in the ground. Here is your bag of gold.’ Unoccupied Disgrace 26 The master answered, ‘You are a wicked and lazy servant! You say you knew that I harvest things I did not plant and that I gather crops where I did not sow any seed. 27 So you should have put my gold in the bank. Then, when I came home, I would have received my gold back with interest.’28 “So the master told his other servants, ‘Take the bag of gold from that servant and give it to the servant who has ten bags of gold. 29 Those who have much will get more, and they will have much more than they need. But those who do not have much will have everything taken away from them.’ 30 Then the master said, ‘Throw that useless servant outside, into the darkness where people will cry and grind their teeth with pain.’ Be Occupied

This is A long parable about a nobleman who entrusts various business interests with servants while he is away on a trip.And centrally located in the text is the word Occupied. God doesn’t want us sitting and doing nothing while everybody else around us is producing and working and doing. I’ve got to close here but We’ve got to Be Occupied with Godly Holy engagement to achieve Righteous Outcomes.Nobody isn’t going to come from some other church and do good by your church when you’re well able to take care of the needs of this Great Pilgrim Baptist Church. The Good Lord is helping this church. He has supplied a wealth of viable avenues for success. God Said

1.Be Organized

2. Be Obedient,

3. Be Optimistic

4. Be Orchestrated and

5. Be Occupied.
