Something is beginning to stir in the American church. Revival is beginning to break out in universities and churches. Some of us remember the great revivals of the past. However, God is going to do a new thing in this generation. He is going to pour out His Spirit on those who desire to see a move of God. Some might ask, "where has the fire of Pentecost gone?" God says even greater glory is coming! Are you ready for what's next?

OPENING

There is something stirring in the church!
I told you at the beginning of this year that 2023 is going to be a year of Blessing and Increase!
The church of Jesus Christ has been asleep for too long!
Where Has the Fire of Pentecost Gone?

SCRIPTURE

Haggai 2:1–9 NKJV
1 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying: 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying: 3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing? 4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the Lord; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts. 5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ 6 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. 8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. 9 ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

BACKGROUND

Haggai was a post-exilic prophet.
After 70 years in Babylonian captivity, Israelites began moving back to Jerusalem.
Their first order of business was to rebuild the Temple.
So they began by rebuilding the foundation.
But the problem was that the new Temple didn’t look as good or as big as the former Temple.
The young people had never seen the former Temple and they rejoiced just to see the Temple being built.
The older people remembered the glory of the former Temple and were discouraged and depressed because it was not the same.
All of this led to the work being stopped.
16 years after the foundation for the new Temple began, it remained unfinished.

MESSAGE

How Do You See It Now? [Verse 3]
Satan will always try to hinder a move of God!
There are three types of people who are going to oppose a move of God:
Criticizers,
Complainers, and
Counterfeits.
But God has a remnant!
What do you see?
We need to refocus!
Be Strong! [Verse 4]
We can’t give up now!
It is time to be encouraged!
It is time for leaders to get motivated!
David encouraged himself in the Lord!
The joy of the Lord is our strength!
Work for I am With You! [Verse 4]
It’s time to take back what the enemy has stolen from us!
It’s time to get to work for the kingdom of God!
The harvest is ready! God need laborers!
I do not believe we have much time!
What God is doing, it is going to be a quick work!
My Spirit Remains Among You! [Verse 5]
He’s still the same God!
The Holy Ghost and Fire is still here!
Let this house be a place where the presence of God is present!
God Will Shake Heaven and Earth! [Verses 6-7]
God is beginning to shake things up!
Get ready for different!
God might need to shake some of us up! We might need to be awakened out of our slumber!
Fill This Temple With Glory! [Verse 7]
God, fill my temple with Your glory!
God, fill our church with Your glory!
God is still pouring out the Holy Spirit to those who want it!
Greater Glory! [Verses 8-9]
Thank God for the past revivals, but we can’t live off of yesterday’s revival!
Nothing will hinder a move of God like trying to live in the past!
Get ready for greater!
Get ready for the glory of God!
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

CLOSING

We believe Jesus sent the promise of the Father just like He said He would.
Luke 24:49 NKJV
49 “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent to empower believers for service.
Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We believe that believers were baptized in the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost just like God prophesied in Joel 2.
Acts 2:1–4 NKJV
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers.
Acts 2:38–39 NKJV
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience received distinct from and subsequent to salvation.
The Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4)
The Samaritans (Acts 8:12-17)
Saul of Tarsus (Acts 9:17-18)
Cornelius’ Household (Acts 10:44-46)
The Ephesians (Acts 19:1-6)
We believe that speaking in tongues is the initial, physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are still available to believers today and did not end with the early church.
We believe that every believer is entitled to and should seek for the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues and to operate in the gifts of the Spirit.
WHERE HAS THE FIRE OF PENTECOST GONE!
IT’S COMING BACK!
