1 Timothy 6:11-21; The Art of Fighting

Sermon in a sentence: The art of fighting requires knowing when to fight or flight.

Flight Response (vs. 11, 13-16, 20-21)

As men and women of God, we must flee from controversy and cravings (6:2b-10)

We should also flee to Christ (v. 11)

Fight Response (vs. 12, 17-19)

We must be ready to fight for the pure gospel of Jesus Christ! (Jude 3)

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth

And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord

Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary

Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell

The third day he rose again from the dead

He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty

From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead

I believe in the Holy Ghost

I believe a holy catholic church; the communion of saints

The forgiveness of sins

The resurrection of the body

And the life everlasting. Amen.

Our own sinful desires

Fathers, are you leading your families in spiritual warfare?

Mothers, are you submitting and encouraging your husbands headship?
