Proverbs 12:25 NIV84
An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.

The First Step is all about position

1 Peter 5:6 NIV84
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Place yourself under God’s hand if you truly want to beat anxiety
What does it take to put yourself under God’s hand?
2 Corinthians 7:5–8 NIV84
For when we came into Macedonia, this body of ours had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever. Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while—
Humble lead to exalted

Don’t hand over your anxiety, Throw it to the one who never missed a catch.

Eppiristo is the Greek word here which means throw.
Luke 21:34–36 NIV84
“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
What separates a great quarterback from a good quarterback.

mérimna; gen. merímnēs, fem. noun from merís (3310), a part. Anxiety, care that brings disruption to the personality and the mind

You can avoid anxiety by keeping you head on straight.

1 Peter 5:8 NIV84
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
What is the root of anxiety?
Which lion are you following?
Revelation 10:1-3 “Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke.”
Revelation 13:2-5 “The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?” The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.”
You have to be focused on the right lion(sober judgement)

Understand you are not in it alone

1 Peter 5:9 NIV84
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
God will direct you to support. He understands your anxiety and knows others who are anxious about the same things, learn to seek support.
Hebrews 4:14–16 NIV84
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Remember back in verse 6. That is our ticket to the seat with the answers.
If you don’t take the seat your will never enjoy the show
1 Peter 5:10–11 NIV84
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
God will show us GRACE, GLORY and GRANDEUR
Luke 8:14–15 NIV84
The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
