GOD’S SAVING GRACE

INTRODUCTION
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE TAKE THE TIME OUT AND BE THANKFUL FOR GOD’S SAVING GRACE HE HAS BESTOWED UPON US.
IF WE LOOK BACK AT OUR LIVES THERE IS NOTHING WE WOULD SEE IN OUR LIVES THAT WOULD MAKE US DESERVING OF THIS GRACE.
TODAY I LIKE TO DISCUSS 3 THINGS WITH YOU.
IN TIME PAST.
GOD’S MERCY.
GOD’S GRACE.
A. IN TIME PAST
EPHESIANS 2:2 “wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
THE WORD TIME PAST WAS WHEN YOU HAD A LIFE OUTSIDE OF GOD.
PAUL SAID WE WALKED ACCORDING TO THE COURSE OF THIS WORLD. WE WAS ON A PATH WAY TO HELL. OUR LIVES WAS A PATTERN OF SIN.
OUR LIVES WAS INFLUENCE BY THE THINGS THE WORLD OFFERED US. WE WAS CONTROLLED AND INFLUENCE BY SATAN’S POWER
WE CHOSE TO DISOBEY GOD, WE REFUSE TO LISTEN TO WHAT GOD SAID.
WE CHOSE TO DO WHAT WE WANTED, INSTEAD OF DOING WHAT WE SHOULD.
SATAN HAD CONTROL OF OUR MINDS, HE PERVERTED OUR WAY OF THINKING.
HE CAUSED US TO LUST AFTER THINGS THAT ONLY BROUGHT PAIN TO OUR LIVES.
WE WAS SELF CENTERED, EVERYTHING REVOLVED AROUND OURSELVES.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:3-4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
B. GOD’S MERCY
EPHESIANS 2:4 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,”
GOD’S MERCY SHOWS HIS COMPASSION TOWARDS EVEN HIS ENEMIES
GOD’S MERCY LOVES US EVEN WHEN WE DO NOT DESERVE TO BE LOVED.
GOD’S MERCY LOVES US EVEN WHEN WE ARE UNWORTHY TO BE LOVED
GOD’S MERCY LOVED US BY SACRIFICING HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON CHRIST JESUS, EVEN WHEN WE WAS UNGODLY.
ROMANS 5:8-10 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”
C. GOD’S GRACE
EPHESIANS 2:7-10 “that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
GOD’S GRACE IS THE FAVOR AND KINDNESS OF GOD
IT IS UNLIMITED TO POINT THAT GOD LAVISH US WITH THE GIFT OF HIS SON CHRIST JESUS THAT THROUGH HIM WE RECEIVED ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH FAITH IN HIS SON ALONE.
WE MUST REALIZE THAT THEIR WAS NOTHING GOOD IN US THAT COULD HAVE PERSUADED GOD TO MAKE US HIS OWN , BUT THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
GOD’S CHILDREN WAS PREDESTINE TO LIVE A LIFE THAT WOULD PLEASE HIM AND REPRESENT HIM.
OUR STEPS SHOULD BE ORDERED BY THE LORD, SO THAT WE CAN SHOW FORTH HIS PRAISE.
1 JOHN 5:1 “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
ROMANS 3:24 “being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
