By definition, you can’t see it, so it’s a mindset! It’s a framework from which all other thoughts and actions proceed!

No one gets to sit this one out.

that makes this one of the most important messages and most important aspects of living for God.

for me to shy away from this is the enemy. To feel selfish about this message is the enemy.

Every instruction to give, REQUIRES that you first receive!

Luke 6:38 NKJV

38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

2 Corinthians 9:6–12 NKJV

6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

GOD IS AFTER FAITH! HE’S LOOKING FOR FAITH!

Finances is one of the CLEAREST indicators of how you see God, and everyone has to take this test. EVERYONE.

Every person here, your view of God is reflected in your giving. What does your giving say about your perspective of God?

If you believe God wants to bless you ABUNDANTLY, what is your view of Him?

If you believe God wants you poor, or is unwilling to bless you financially, what is your view of Him?

Where does your view of God & finances come from? Does it come from the Word?

If God is going to bless you? How does He do it? Is He a God of barely? Is He a God of struggle?

The Biblical words are:

riches, exceedingly abundantly, pressed-down, shaken-together, & running over, windows of heaven being opened, you won’t even have room enough to contain!

Does that sound like barely? Does that sound like struggle?

What is your view of yourself financially? Do you deserve financial blessing?

God wants to bless SOWERS!

Just as He entrusts us with authority, He also entrusts us with finances. When He gives them to us, 100%, He’s saying, “Okay, let me see what you do with them!”

What is your faith perspective of yourself, financially?

The Biblical view of yourself has to be that of a co-heir sower.

Mark 10:20–31 NKJV

20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” 21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” 22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” 27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” 28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.” 29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

RIGHT AFTER He told him to sell everything, He said God will give it all back! He wasn’t saying you can’t have anything, He was saying give and trust God and He’ll give you 10x what you have!

but the rich young ruler didn’t hear that part. Why? He walked away when he heard that God was after his money. How perfectly does that describe most people’s attitude about finances and God?

The problem with riches:

(they’re the same problems as anything else)

trusting in them instead of God (attack on your faith)

being poor doesn’t solve this one because you can trust in anything instead of God. + if you’re poor and worried, it’s the same issue, just from the other direction.

loving them

being poor doesn’t solve this one because you can covet riches when you don’t have them

seeing yourself as better than others

being poor DEFINITELY doesn’t solve this one

If you finally get it. If you finally transcend and walk by faith financially, not by sight, all worry, strife, and covetousness will fade away.
