THREE PURPOSES OF THE CHURCH

1) MINISTRY TO GOD: Praise & worship- not a concert but a praise to our God.

2) MINISTRY TO OTHERS: Preaching, praying and serving needs.

3) MINISTRY TO THE WORLD: this is where we witness, help, serve and get involved with other people’s lives outside of the fellowship that they might see Jesus in and through us.

THREE REASONS THE CHURCH IS CALLED

THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

1) INTIMACY: Example of Husband and Wife – Accountable, sharing stories and life. Leaning on each other, speaking into each others life for perspective and wisdom.

A. Have you ever stuck up for your wife, mom, sister, or a significant other? Let’s hear the story.

2. PROTECTION : Something happens to you I want to know asap. The car breaks down. A Stranger intruding, Your health. Men in general want to protect. Then if you attack my character don’t mess with my wife. She knows me and shes going to defend my heart and intentions from others.

3. PROVISIONS: It my role to provide. I want to provide and its my joy to meet the needs of wife and family.

For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. I cor 3:9

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds[a] and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[c] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:11-14

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25

19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by[b] the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22
