Have you met someone famous? You might have known some facts about that person, but meeting him or her was a different matter. People everywhere have ideas about the divine, usually passed down from the worldviews of their ancestors or of a god of their making. But beliefs are different from the relationship that comes through meeting with God. In our text, we see Moses’ encounter with God as He reveals to him His true name and nature—the same immutable God who reveals Himself to us still today.
