Matthew 28:16-20 “Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
How can you support?
Money- You give them money. It seems like the church is trying to bleed you dry sometimes. Now some of you open your wallets without batting an eye, and others look at each other and say “Man what are they doing with the money that we just sent them?” I get it. Everyone is asking for money. Bills, travel, clothing, housing, sustenance. Everything cost money, including ministry. The only difference is that ministry is a nonprofit. Missionaries are not out to make millions, and they will not. But they do deserve to eat. They do deserve to have materials to help them spread the gospel. They
— I can tell you this, though, even if they do not have the materials it will take to make ministry a little easier they will continue anyways. They are going to stay in their field until the Lord tells them it is time to move, come what may. But God has given us the opportunity and the means to bless their lives and their ministries
Prayer- Over 500 missionaries are on the field working away for the Lord. Pray that they will be encouraged. Pray that they will be protected from our greatest adversary. Pray that they will be strengthened when they are weak, both physically and mentally.
Go to Them- (Eventually)
How do you fulfill the GC? Well of course you give your money, right? That’s what Jesus said anyways, yeah? “Go, therefore, and spread the gospel, but if you do not really want to spread the gospel then give your money to someone who does and I will count it as following commandments” NO! Jesus said GO! All of Christs disciples are supposed to be fulfilling the GC. Now I will tell you this too. If you are saved, you are a disciple of Christ. You may not be as strong as others, you may be more by the wayside than others are, you may be the farthest man or woman from God’s side right now in this sanctuary, but you are still a disciple, and the GC still applies to you.
I want to pause here and ask you guys something. Without raising your hand, you can answer this in your own heart, but how many of you are going to heaven when you leave this earth? If your eternal destination is with Christ then it is because someone took the GC seriously and you where presented with the gospel. It may have been a televangelist, it could have been a preacher, it might have been a dedicated Sunday school teacher, or one of your loving parents or even grandparents, but someone was carrying out Jesus’s final commands to
Do not let pride get in your way of reaching others for Christ. It is a life or death situation.
God’s mission to make disciples in every nation, tribe, and tongue has united the BMA churches for over 70 years. We believe this mission was given to local churches. Local churches are both the source and the goal of God’s mission.
A Shared Mission, A Shared Responsibility
BMA Global Missions is committed to working with BMA churches to fulfill God’s mission around the world. TOGETHER, we partner to send missionaries that make disciples and train leaders to plant churches among their own people.
Pray for the global family of 500 missionaries.
Give to the Jerry Kidd Missions offering. (Taken in the foyer after service.)
On their journey there were commanded to disciple the nations.
What does this mean? They had to evangelize first, seeing true saving grace accepted by those they are seeking to disciple. You cannot have true discipleship until one is saved.
Then discipleship is imperative. Ever do anything that you found later to be a sin? Discipleship would help. Ever
What does this mean for you and I? Are you a disciple of Jesus? Then these are His words to you.
What does it mean world wide? Our missionaries are tirelessly striving to create a Christian culture in an unreached society. Is it easy? If it was easy then everyone would do it. Is it necessary? It is the highest of necessities.
Do you know what they are doing? They are sharing the gospel to people in a foreign culture, in a foreign language. You know what else they are doing? They’re doing it without the comfort of there families. They’re without the comforts of their favorite foods. They’re without their friends. They completely uproot and rearrange their lives all for the sake of the gospel. Could you do that? Truly? If not, why could you not? If God asked, why would you not answer your call? And if you would not, remember th
