Decisively Engaged

Matthew 10:16–22 KJV 1900

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

With the outpouring of the Holy Ghost is the early 1900’s the church has been under attack.

Different revelations of truth have come step by step until we have the reappearance of the Book of Acts church.

In the 1960 the charismatic church begins to appear, the catholic (and other denominations) begin to fight in earnest and call speaking in tongues of the devil.

The mainstream charismatic movement became so extreme that by the 1980’s the UPC and other truth based organizations began separate themselves from the charismatic movement and in fear of being included with them, began to reject many of the spiritual aspects of what the Book of Acts church is.

Churches began to teach things like:

prophets and prophecy is dead

apostles are no longer

everything is NOT spiritual

Until by the 1990’s we were afraid to be “spiritual”.

But we are spiritual. We live in a spiritual world...

Greatest trick the devil has performed to date is to get spirit filled people to fear being spirit filled!

You will be engaging in spiritual warfare.

You will be dealing with two types of people...

Oppressed and Possessed

This how I pray before every home bible study…

and through the day, multiple times.

Oppression: influenced by an outside force.

You cannot exist wo be oppressed by outside forces...

Certain people or places who make you feel a certain way.

Places you go or things you do affect your attitude.

You can’t walk through a mud puddle wo getting mud on you...

Possession: motivated by and internal force

Total control.

A possessed person sets the pace for those who are to be oppressed.

They are the manipulator.

They just don’t have mud on them but in them.

They drank the mud puddle

Is this scary?

How to deal with and in the spirit realm.

Before you go into the meeting, pray that God protect your mind and that you are unaffected by any negative spirits that you encounter and that you take nothing with you from the meeting that does not please God.

After do a careful post session check of yourself. If you find yourself angry at things that normally would not anger you, if you find yourself critical, frustrated - anything that is not a normal response - recognize that as something that “followed you home” and go into prayer and refuse to continue the the anger or whatever.

Above all do not fear… greater is he that is in you. Satans greatest tool is we often do not recognize the difference between a personal weakness and and spiritual warfare…

Time to walk in the Spirit lest we walk in the spirit!
