Introduction
In our culture we are told this statement that “All Roads eventually lead to Rome.”
Our society say there are many truths, they would say things like “That is your truth” Not mine. Do you guys believe that is true?
We live in a society that is not interested in knowing truth
*Difference between truth and absolute truth
Pilate and Jesus on truth John 18:36-38
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “What is truth?”
After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him.
Just like Pi;ate the world doesn't care about what truth really is!
Jesus in 6 different ways says he is the only way to salvation
1. I am the bread of life.” (John 6:35) As bread sustains physical life, so Christ offers and sustains spiritual life.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
2. “I am the light of the world.” (John 8:12) To a world lost in darkness, Christ offers Himself as a guide.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
3. “I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7) and 9-Jesus protects His followers as shepherds protect their flocks from predators.
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
4. “I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25) Death is not the final word for those in Christ.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
5. “I am the good shepherd.” (John 10:11) Jesus is committed to caring and watching over those who are His.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
6. “I am the true vine.” (John 15:1 By attached ourselves to Christ, we enable His life to flow in and through us. Then we cannot help but bear fruit that will honor the Father.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
