The Apostle Paul is writing to the Gentile/Pagan believers at Ephesus from his prison cell.

Let’s begin reading in verse 15-

In the first 14 verses of this chapter Paul reviews their salvation and the blessings of that salvation through the finished work of Christ. And that believers are secure IN CHRIST!

In verse 15 Paul tells his audience that he has recieved testimony of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, evidenced by their LOVE for the saints! (God’s family-your brother ans sisters in Christ)

Verse 16 Paul expresses his thanks to God for their salvation and the love they show one another.

Verse 17 Paul tells them that he prays for them, and goes on to tell them exactly how he prays- this continuous prayer by Paul is also an introduction to doctrine and instruction. **Paul lets them know that Salvation by Faith in Christ is just the start of their journey and what is available to believers as they begin their journey of faith and sanctification!
