Be Like God: (Eph 5:1)
We are given Gifts and talents to benefit each other.
As you mature you contribute to the move of God
Where are you at?
Are you at a place where God can us you to help build others up?
Are you in a position where God can move through your life to hep bring others to Salvation and faith?
God wants you not to just be spectators but He wants to work through your Life!
What Can God do with Just one person?
History is full of stories of God saving, healing ,and then using men and women to do amazing things.
D.L. Moody- carried the presence of God into factories and men would fall down under the weight of the glory of God, and they saw a changed in society.
Alcoholism actually declined
George Whitfield preached and saw thousands come and be touched.
John Wesley had to tell people to climb down out of trees because the Spirit would move so mightily they would fall out of them.

What can God do in and through you?
Well the possibly is endless if you are surrendered and mature enough to life a Godly Life
Ephesians 4:17 CSB
Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thoughts.
The call is to look and live differently then the world, and the promise is you will get different results.
Ephesians 4:18–19 CSB
They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts. They became callous and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity with a desire for more and more.

Chart: Ninefold Former State of Gentiles

1. Vain in mind (Eph. 4:17; cp. Eph. 2:11)

2. Dark in understanding (Eph. 4:18; 2:12)

3. Alien to God’s life (Eph. 4:18; 2:12)

4. Ignorant of God (Eph. 4:18; 2:12)

5. Blind in heart (Eph. 4:18; 2Cor. 4:4)

6. Past feeling (Eph. 4:19; 2:12)

7. Lustful (Eph. 4:19; Gal. 5:19, note)

8. Unclean (homosexual, Eph. 4:19; Gal. 5:19)

9. Greedy (Eph. 4:19; 5:3; 2Cor. 6:10)

Vain (Futility)- Empty- There is no results- It is a life consumed with oneself, and the result is an empty life
There minds are dark - They walk in darkness and their is no light or life.
You are the light of the world- WE are children of light- we bring light into dark places and people can see the light of God all over us.
John 1:4–5 CSB
In him was life, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it.
Darkness cannot over come light, and if you have Christ in you you are the light of the World, and You walk in the light no matter how dark it may be around you.
Alien to the life of God (they are excluded)
they are still under the power of Satan
Acts 26:18 CSB
to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
ignorant of God- They don’t know God or the things of God, which leads them to continue in a life of brokenness and sin which cause even more brokenness in their own lives and the lives of others.
it is all they know
Blind in Heart
They can’t see, why,
2 Corinthians 4:4 CSB
In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
They are blinded by the God of this age.
callous- They can’t feel.
The hurts and the pains have caused they to become numb, and therefore they can’t feel.
They have conformed to the brokenness of this world and have found a way not to feel the pain and therefore they can survive.
They don;’t think there can be healing so they become callous
Lustful- If there is no point then why not just fulfill all the desires of the flesh
Why not live a greedy selfish life.
at the cost of others
Using people
Objectifying other
Hurting others
Abandoning others
using others
This is the world we live in

But this is not for us

Ephesians 4:20–24 CSB
But that is not how you came to know Christ, assuming you heard about him and were taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.
We are taught by Christ-
Matthew 11:28–30 CSB
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
We are renewed in the Spirit of our minds

The “renewal” here mentioned is not that of the mind itself in its natural powers of memory, judgment and perception, but “the spirit of the mind,” which, under the controlling power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, directs its bent and energies Godward in the enjoyment of “fellowship with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ,” and of the fulfillment of the will of God.

2 Corinthians 10:3–5 CSB
For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.
WE don’t think like everyone else, in fact when thoughts don’t match God’s word we have our minds renewed by the Spirit that is at work in us!
We live a new Life
Ephesians 4:25–32 CSB
Therefore, putting away lying, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the devil an opportunity. Let the thief no longer steal. Instead, he is to do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need. No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear. And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice. And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
Ephesians 4:24 CSB
and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.
Ephesians 5:1 CSB
Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children,
