Who is this witness?
John 6:41-47  (ESV)
41 So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43 Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— 46 not that anyone has seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father. 47 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.
The Resume:
First qualification is he is
\The one who does the will of God
John 4:34 (ESV)
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
(NLT)
34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.
How was Jesus nourished how did he know the will of God?
Prayer
The Bible tells us in (1 Th 5:17) to "pray without ceasing." I believe we should pray over everything we do.

Scripture
2nd qualification is he is
The one who has power over life and death
Luke 7:11-17 widow of Nain’s son
Luke 8:52-56 Jairus’ daughter
John 11 Lazarus
Matthew 27:50-53 resurrection of saints
Mark 16:1-8 resurrection of Jesus
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (ESV)
55 “O death, where is your victory?     O death, where is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Third qualification is he is
The one who fulfills the prophecy

The fourth qualification in Jesus resume
The one who has seen the Father
John 14:9 ESV
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
John 1:18 ESV
No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 1:14 ESV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:7 ESV
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
His statement:
John 6:48-51 (ESV)
48 I am the bread of life.49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
History
Psalm 78:17-25  (ESV)
17 Yet they sinned still more against him,     rebelling against the Most High in the desert. 18 They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved.19 They spoke against God, saying,     “Can God spread a table in the wilderness? 20 He struck the rock so that water gushed out     and streams overflowed. Can he also give bread     or provide meat for his people?” 21 Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of wrath; a fire was kindled against Jacob; his anger rose against Israel, 22 because they did not believe in God and did not trust his saving power. 23 Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven, 24 and he rained down on them manna to eat     and gave them the grain of heaven. 25 Man ate of the bread of the angels; he sent them food in abundance.

John 6:52-57 (ESV)
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.

Jesus the bread of life divided into 4 sections
Jesus, the True Manna (6:27-34)
The Son of Man (a title Jesus uses to refer to himself) will give you food that will sustain you not just for a few hours, but into the life to come (eternal life).
We can't work for eternal life, we receive it by believing in Jesus.
Women at the well…
John 4:15 English Standard Version (ESV)
15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”
Jesus, the Bread of Life (6:35-51)
John 4:13-14  (ESV)
13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.[a] The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Vs 47 vs Vs 51
verse 47
He who believes
has eternal life
verse 51a
If anyone eats of this (living) bread
he will live forever
Partaking of the Son of Man (6:52-59)
The listeners take his words literally and are deeply offended, as Jesus undoubtedly knew they would be. But it seems as if Jesus purposely carries the idea farther yet, so that, if it is to be taken literally, it becomes more offensive yet.
Reactions to Jesus' Teaching (6:60-71)
John 8:31-32  (ESV)
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Next week
Vs 40 vs Vs 54 pic
St Augustine said, “Believe and you have eaten.”
Whoever feeds (believes) in me has eternal life. My life becomes your life. I live in you. I sustain you.
Conclusion
John 6:58-59 (ESV)
58 This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.
Remember when Jesus fed the 5000.. really over 15000, he filled them more than they could handle… there where left overs…
May we be satisified in Christ!
Ephesians 1:20-23  (ESV)
20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
John Calvin in (Calvin’s Commentaries [Baker], p. 261), “How few are there who are satisfied with Christ alone!” How about you? Are you satisfied with Christ alone? Do you feed on His death for you as your only hope of eternal life? Do you feed on Him daily in His Word as nourishment for your soul? Do you enjoy all that He is for you, both now and for eternity?
Jesus Jesus you make the darkness tremble Jesus Jesus you silence fear Jesus Jesus you make the darkness tremble Jesus Jesus
