When Christ Speaks to the Church - Pergamum

Introduction:

1 . Faithfulness in faithless time (persecution).

a) people were not denying christianity even if that meant to lose their job, or even life.

2. Faithfulness in a faithless place (seat of satan)

a) people were still commited to remain in a hostile place and not move despite the idolatry that is there.

II. Condemn

1. Sexual Immorality (practice)

a) even if they were willing to pay a price for the name of christian, they were not pay the price to live up to the standard of God with regard to sexuality.

2. Idolatry (belief)

a) probably they would acknowledge other God’s next to Jesus.

Different cults that exhibit a high moral standard but a different God such as Oneness Pentecostals, Muslims etc.

Reward the repentant
