To fear Something is to Give it authority

There is a healthy fear and an unhealthy fear

God says,

Romans 8:15 CSB

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”

as Children off God we are under the authority of God.

He makes the rules and we walk in them

“Under my roof....”

The Fear of the lord- The reverence and respect of God as Lord of your life

It is the acknowledgment of who God is- and living in response to that reality.

Walking with the right reverence of God leads to blessing

Psalm 128:1–6 CSB

How happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You will surely eat what your hands have worked for. You will be happy, and it will go well for you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house, your children, like young olive trees around your table. In this very way the man who fears the Lord will be blessed. May the Lord bless you from Zion, so that you will see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life and will see your children’s children! Peace be with Israel.

Fear of the Lord and blessing from the Lord go hand in hand-

Blessed in your work

Blessed in your marriage- Wife

Your blessed in your parenting (Children)

“In every Way, the man who fears the Lord will be blessed.”

Fear Leads to blessing because it leads us on the paths of Righteousness

This leads to wisdom and blessing

proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Every other word of wisdom that Solomon is gonna give, all begins with the acknowledgement of who God truly is

How we should walk

How we should manage our finances

Conduct our businesses

How we should face problems

How we should do our marriages

How we should raise our

It is understanding who God truly Is

Not what others say

Not what situations convince you of

It is seeing God for who He truly is

Hebrews 11:6 CSB

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Must believe that He- Not any God but the true God

The fear of the Lord puts you in a position to be blessed

How happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!

- Those who walk in the ways of God- What does it look like to walk in the ways of God?

When you fear the Lord you Humble yourself-

Your prayer becomes that of Jesus “Not my will but yours be done.”

And through humility before God you find victory over the enemy

1 Peter 5:6–9 (CSB)

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.

Humble yourself- is to make low- It is the acknowledgment of God’s greatest and our futility.

To humble yourself is to make low,

it is to bow to the awesomeness of God

James 4:7 CSB

Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Submit- It is putting yourself under the authority of God- it is a military term

God is your covering

Joshua Going into the promises land- as they submitted to God and walked in obedience to His commands they experience victory and inherited His blessing

It is recognition of God’s power and the authority that you have in Christ Jesus

The Centurion’s faith

Matthew 8:5–13 CSB

When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, pleading with him, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible agony.” He said to him, “Am I to come and heal him?” “Lord,” the centurion replied, “I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith. I tell you that many will come from east and west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus told the centurion, “Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that very moment.

Those who walk in the ways of God, we face trials and the storms of Life, Knowing who God is, and the authority we are under!

Ephesians 6:10 CSB

Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength.

We understand that God is on the throne in our lives and therefore we face situation with Authority, that is back by the Power of God

David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17:43–47 CSB

He said to David, “Am I a dog that you come against me with sticks?” Then he cursed David by his gods. “Come here,” the Philistine called to David, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts!” David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with a sword, spear, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of Armies, the God of the ranks of Israel—you have defied him. Today, the Lord will hand you over to me. Today, I’ll strike you down, remove your head, and give the corpses of the Philistine camp to the birds of the sky and the wild creatures of the earth. Then all the world will know that Israel has a God, and this whole assembly will know that it is not by sword or by spear that the Lord saves, for the battle is the Lord’s. He will hand you over to us.”

What can God do in the Life of those who Fear Him?

Dan 3- “Our God is able” Three Hebrews Boys feared God over man

Dan 6- Daniel defied the King to pray to God

Exodus 5- Moses stands before Pharaoh and becomes the Deliver of a Nation

These are Grand examples, yet they apply to our everyday life-

Perhaps we wont stand before Pharoah , But will we be found faithful where we are

Will walk out of reverence for the Lord,

Romans 12:1 CSB

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.

It is the life of Worship

It is the life that declares God first above all else

It is trust in His character and His word

God will Do everything He says He will do no matter what the circumstances look like

Conclusion:

Perhaps you have been living your life without this reality- Who God truly is, and in return you have felt it in your life:

in your Marriage

With your Children

With your Finances

with your work

With your business

So what do you?

Today is the Day to humble yourself before God

Put Christ First in every area of you life , and see the promises of God begin to come into reality

Begin to walk according the word of God , Making His the lord of Life and see the blessing that Flows from Him.
