We live in a culture that encourages us to think that we’re free to choose from a smorgasbord of spiritual options. We can listen to spiritual gurus from east and west, mix them all together and believe in a spirituality that suits us. Among this mix we find Jesus as just another spiritual option. But can we treat Jesus as just another spiritual teacher? Jesus himself says no. This week as we look together at Matthew 12:38-42 we’re going to examine the claims of Jesus and his claim that he is someone that needs to be taken seriously. He’s not just another prophet, not just another spiritual option, but God’s messenger of salvation. As we’ll see this Sunday there is incredibly strong reasons to believe he is who he says he is and to put your faith in him.
