Jude 17–22 NKJV
But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction;
And of some have compassion, making a distinction.
This word distinction is sometimes translated as difference. Both are correct, although distinction may be a clearer translation because it shows a distinction from the previously mentioned individuals. In this case it is the people mentioned in verses 18 and 19.
Thus, the people that are making kingdom impact are those who are distinct/different in that they do not walk according to their own flesh, they don’t cause division, they are filled with the Spirit, and they evangelize.
