Never Stop Learning

Notes

Don’t get pulled down

Withdrawal yourselves from everyone who walks disorderly. We should never associate ourselves with people who do not walk with in the Lord.
let me explain- Someone who is living a sinful life needs to repent , can we agree on that.
If we fellowship with such person, we are encouraging them to continue ion their sin.
As Christinas we have to be firm in making sure they underatnd where we stand and why we chose not to fellowship with them.
Main reason, they are not walking with God, therefore they are probably not Christians.
I believe someone can walk away from their salvation. Someone who walks away is not considered a Christian.
If Christ would return while you are in a backsliding state, then you might just stay behind.
Colossians 3:1-4 “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Colossians 2:6 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:”
Philippians 3:13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
2 Thess. it goes on to say _ we know how to follow.
How do we know how to follow.
We follow the example that was set before us. We follow Jesus, we look at people and we see the fruit they have produced
If there is no fruit then they should have no followers. Only when there is fruit should people follow them,
If someone was (past tense) a Christian and the fell away, then we should not bve following them because they are no longer a Christian. They have lost their testimony.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
In fact
Galatians 2:6 “But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:”
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Back in 2 Thessalonians, they were busy. But they were busy with the things of God. The things of God can mean various things. It can mean preaching, teaching, discipling, feeding the poor, clothing the naked and many other good things.
But it always comes back to your relationship with God.
It does not matter what you do, if you don’t have a relationship with God then you are not a Christian.
John 5:31-40“If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
John 5:41-47 “I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”
Again you search the scriptures thinking that is where eternal life is. That is wrong. The bible is a way of how to live a pure and holy life to bring honor and glory to our heavenly Father.
We have eternal life how, by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. Nothing else. If we believe then we are saved. There is no “and”. anyone who adds and is adding to the bible.
How do we get stronger, bigger, smarter.
We do that by studying, by reading, and praying.
How many of us are reading the word of God everyday. How many of us are praying everyday?
How many of us are meditating on the word of God.
Do you even know what meditating on the word of God means.
Meditation mean becoming one with your Spirit and the presence of God.
It has to be done in a quiet place. A place where it is you and God and you are receiving from God.
Genesis 24:63 “And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.”
Joshua 1:8-9 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
In order for us to grow, we need to be careful who we associate with, we need to read, we need to pray. We all know what we need to do. We just need to do it.
If you are in sin, I have one word for you
STOP.
Then repent and give all of yourself to our Heavenly Father.
But remember, to meditate. become one with your spirit and our Heavenly Father. In your quiet place, in your closet.
