i. Romans 10:9

a. The things we have at our fingertips.

i. The computer age. And all its forms.

1. Guess how I knew how many verses?

2. It took less than a second.

ii. The knowledge we have now.

iii. The health care available to us.

iv. Travel (Jesus walked everywhere.)

v. If I live long enough I may see a man land on Mars.

b. But also, the

Skepticism

i. The media cannot be believed.

ii. Science is proving things wrong (but can you really believe it?)

iii. You can not trust a politician.

iv. This even goes for the church.

v. Judge you gonna believe me or those lying pictures?

Supernatural

c. The time of Christ was much different.

i. Much simpler but certainly harder

ii. There was not the skepticism there is today.

iii. The supernatural was more believable in that culture.

iv. If you were told someone rose from the dead today, you would not believe it.

d. Now go back to

Romans 10:9

i. You have to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead to be saved from your sins and go to heaven.

ii. It is a remarkable thing to do.

iii. How does it happen?

By the power of the Holy Spirit.

v. There is no greater force in the universe than the Power of God.

vi. God simply speaks and creation happens.

vii. God hears our prayer of faith and gives a nod, and a miracle is on display.

viii. You confess your sins and Jesus as Lord and believe and all of Hell is held at bay.

b. Display of power #1

i. The power to raise Christ shows that God has the power to conquer all the trials and temptations of life.

ii. You face no problem no temptation alone.

Display of power #2

i. The resurrection of Jesus Christ shows that God has the power to give man a new life and the power to live a new life before Him.

ii. Romans 6:4 (NLT) — 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

iii. YOU ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN

d. Display of power #3

i. The power to raise Christ from the dead shows that God has the power to raise men from the dead.

ii. Heaven is my home.

iii. This frail weak broken body will someday have new life and a new body.

3. It’s not about your preferences it’s about your surrender.

2. Ask God but do it without doubting being toss like the waves of the sea.

3. It’s not try harder but trust more.

4. Your own cleverness will fail you.

Power of God

a. Nothing can stand against it.

i. I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.

ii. I want to know and experience it.

iii. Some mighty works have taken place in this church.

iv. Be the catalyst that continues that work.
