Psalm 19:1–4 NKJV
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. Who Is God - Today i want to look at the Creative God, his creative works, his majesty and his glory!
Elohim
Elohim is the name of our God that we will talk about today. That name shows how powerful and in charge God is as the Creator of the universe.
Genesis 1:1–2 NLT
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
"In the beginning, God made the world and everything in it. Now, the earth had no shape and was empty. The deep was dark, and God's Spirit was hovering over the water."
These two verses tell us a lot about what God is like. First, they emphasize His ability to make things. Our God made everything we can see, from the stars in the sky to the mountains on the ground. He spoke, and it happened. Second, we can see that God's Spirit was there when the world was made. This shows how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all one but also different. At the beginning of time, all three were there and worked together to make the universe.
Psalm 19:1-4 also talk about God's power to make things:
Psalm 19:1–4 NLT
1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
The beauty of the sky and the earth show that our God has the power to make things. All of these things show how creative God is: the stars in the sky, the colors of the sunset, and the patterns on the leaves. The Psalmist reminds us that the universe isn't quiet. Instead, it's always talking about how great God is.
When we think about God's ability to make things, we must also remember that the things He makes show who He is and what He is like. For example, the size of the universe shows that He is limitless. The fact that a single cell is so complicated shows how smart He is. His skill is shown in the beauty of a sunset. The love we have for our family and friends shows how much God loves us. The more we look at God's world, the more we can see how He put His mark on every part of it.
But while we are amazed by God's ability to make things, we must also remember that we were made in His image. It says in Genesis 1:26–27:
Genesis 1:26–27 NKJV
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
This part of the Bible tells us that we are unique. We are not just another species on this planet. Instead, God made us in his own image. This means that we are valuable and worthy just the way we are. It also means that we have a responsibility to take care of God's world and show the world what He is like.
But sin has changed the way God's image looks in us.
Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Our sin have separated us from God and have broken our relationship with Him.
But the good news is that God has given us a way to make up with Him.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
We can be made right with God if we believe in Jesus Christ
Now God's work shows not only how powerful and glorious He is, but also how He acts and what He is like. Let's look at some of the things about God that we can see in the world He made.
God's creation shows how smart He is.
Proverbs 3:19–20 NLT
19 By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky.
God is wise because the world around us is so complicated and full of details. Everything in the universe, from the smallest subatomic particles to the biggest galaxies, shows how smart our God is.
God's work shows how good He is.
Psalm 145:9 NKJV
9 The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.
The beauty and plenty of the earth show how good God is. All of the colors of the flowers, the different kinds of fruits and vegetables, and the different kinds of animals show how kind and generous God is.
God's creation shows that He is reliable.
Jeremiah 31:35–36 NCV
35 The Lord makes the sun shine in the day and the moon and stars to shine at night. He stirs up the sea so that its waves crash on the shore. The Lord All-Powerful is his name. This is what the Lord says: 36 “Only if these laws should ever fail,” says the Lord, “will Israel’s descendants ever stop being a nation before me.”
The order and consistency of the universe show that God is true. The sun comes up and goes down, the seasons change, and the stars shine where they should. The whole world shows that our God is trustworthy.
God's creation shows how much He loves us.
Romans 1:20 NKJV
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
Here me now, But pay attention to something that is often missed. When people look at nature, they can see more than just the fact that God made it. You can see that the universe was made by more than just a Supreme Being. You can see "the things that can't be seen" about God.
You can see God's supreme intelligence and energy , which is called "eternal power." You can look at how the earth and space were made, as well as how plants, animals, and man and woman were made. You can see their bodies and structures.
You can see Variety and beauty, arrangement and order, a goal and a set of rules.
When you look at these things and thinks about them in an honest way, you can see that the world was made by someone. That’s not all, you sees a lot more than that. You realizes that the God - Elohim is the most powerful...
• Life and Being
• Know-how and intelligence
• Power and Energy (the Supreme Force)
Purpose and meaning, Design and order (law), Beauty and majesty, Glory and honor, Value and worth (morality), and Mystery (things not understood; secrets undiscovered)
You can see the "Godhead," which means they you see that God is God. When you looks at nature and thinks about it in an honest way, you can see that the Creator is a God who: cares for and provides for what He made. gives life and is interested in life. renews, replenishes, and keeps things going. is worthy of worship and obedience (being the Creator of life and purpose, and being the Supreme Person of law and order demands that all his subjects serve and obey Him).
The Bible says that man has no reason to be sorry. It's hard to believe. We have every sign in the world that points you toward God, but some still reject the knowledge of God in the world.
Psalm 97:6 NKJV
6 The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory.
Today I want to encourage you to think about how great and awesome our God, Elohim, who made the universe, is. As we've seen in the Bible, God's work shows His power, wisdom, and love. It also shows us His glory and goodness.
But God's creation shows more than just how powerful He is. It also shows who He is and what He values. In the beauty of nature, the complexity of living things, and the size of the universe, we can see how smart and wise our God is. We can see God's care and love for all of His creations in the variety of life. And we can see God's faithfulness and power in the way the world is put together and works well.
Today - I want us to remember that our God is the All-Powerful Creator who deserves all praise, honor, and worship. Remember that He made us in His image and gave us the privilege and duty of taking care of what He made.
Knowing How Great is our God should move us and make us want to live in a way that honors Him. Go out and try to understand and enjoy His creations, and then share this to lead someone to Jesus Christ !
Let's end our time together by giving thanks and worshiping our God, Elohim, who made everything. Amen.
