As Abram builds Alter, seeks God, and the blessing of God just follows hard after him. Lot is seeking the blessing and ends up in all kinds of bondage. Abram builds alters, lets go of control, trusts God and sees the victory.

Abram v. Lot
Lot is chasing Hard after a blessing. He takes the best for himself. He goes to a place he knows he really should not go and ends up captured and in bondage. In need of rescue.
Abram lets go of all control of the situation. He obeys God. Let’s Lot have his choice. (in the hands of Abram would that land have turned out the same- Lot is just hanging out chilling with the evil - would Abram have put up with it?)
