Jesus prays for you, even those of you who have not met him

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word

Here jesus is praying for his disciples but also those who the disciples would lead to Jesus.. still to this day through Gods word.

Luke 19:10  (ESV)

10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus prays for his disciples first because they will have the duty to teach to the world. Jesus is leaving them. this duty carries to us. so our defining moment becomes the same as Jesus’

Teach the word

Romans 10:13-14,17  (ESV)

13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

Romans 10:17

17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Serve your Neighbor

Galatians 5:13-14  (ESV)

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 5:16  (ESV)

16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Pray for those who have not met Jesus yet

The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Jesus prays that we would love each other into perfect unity.

John 17:21-23 (ESV)

21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me

Can we disagree without being disagreeable?

Romans 14:5-12  (ESV)

19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Pray for each other, pray for forgiveness.

1 Peter 3:12 (ESV)

12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Pray for unity among believers.. do you need to forgive your spouse, your co worker, you’re your parents.. do you need to seek someones forgiveness..call them right now.. text them..

24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Jesus desire for us to be with him.

Jesus desires that God love is in Us

He is the way we Know God

Pray that we would love like God.
