Scripture for the Year
Psalm 110:3 (KJV) — 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Scripture for the week
At the end of the day, you’re going to be okay
Ecclesiastes 8:12 (NIV) — 12 Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him.
Terrible things happen in this life and it often seems like the innocent people suffer and the bad bad people go free
Life is like that sometimes!
There are times when it seems that trouble comes to those who ought to enjoy the fullest of life's blessings.
This is what is called in Bible knowledge, innocent suffering
That is a problem that we all deal with from time to time.
It is a problem that I would like to address this morning.
Even though we look around us and see injustice and trouble coming to people and we may wonder why.
Even though we all go through times of struggle and question the reason behind it in our own lives.
Even though some of you may be there this morning, I want to tell you and show you from God's Word that Everything's Gonna Be okay
No matter how things may look right now, you’re gonna be okay
In the book of Job, we see the suffering o Job
By the way, Job's "friends" concluded that the righteous do not suffer. Therefore, Job's trials were in reality the result of Job's sins!
Many people still have that opinion in our day!
There are times when people suffer due to no fault of their own
Jesus was asked the question, who sinned the man born blind or his parents, Jesus said none of hem sinned, but that the glory of God might be seen in this young man who was born blind
May the Power and glory of God be seen in every one of us
This is the doctrine of innocent suffering
The idea that serving God brings with it immunity from trials has caused many suffering saints to become disillusioned and has them to quit serving the Lord.
Serving the Lord does bring with it many benefits
If you are saved, there is a long list of benefits and advantages that you have.
Some of which are: Salvation, forgiveness of sin, a home in heaven, the presence of God, the promise of His help and provision, etc.
However, most of them are spiritual in nature, while most of our trials happen in the physical realm.
That is why we often have a problem accepting the things that come our way.
If we are not careful, when the trials of life begin to multiply in our lives, we might come to the same conclusion that the preacher came to in Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes 1:2 (NKJV) — 2 “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”
Ecclesiastes 2:23 (NKJV) — 23 For all his days are sorrowful, and his work burdensome; even in the night his heart takes no rest. This also is vanity.
We might just come to the place where we think that all of life, especially the rewards of living for the Lord, are just a waste of time.
Let me just remind you that there are no accidents with the Lord!
We have discussed the problem, this morning, and it is a problem that we all deal with at one time or another.
Now, let's allow the Lord Jesus to help us to achieve the proper perspective on this subject. Notice what He said in
John 16:33 (NIV) — 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
According to the Lord, as we move through life we can expect that there will be pressure placed upon us from time to time.
Even though we know it, as did Job (Job 14:1) it still bothers us when we see the righteous suffer.
Job 14:1 (NIV) — 1 “Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble.
The verse (Ecc 8:12)goes on to tell us that even though the wicked seem to prosper and the righteous seem to be unjust burdens, things will eventually work out for those who love the Lord.
He seems to be reminding us that even our trials have the ability to be turned into triumphs.
Sometimes troubles hit us like that heavy bag, knocking us down and causing us injury. But God can bring great gain into our lives through these burdens and trials.
That is why I am glad that I can report to you this morning that everything's gonna be okay!
It may look bad for you this morning, but in the end, things are going to work out just like God has planned!
You may ask, what has God planned? He has planned nothing but the best for His children,
Romans 8:28 (NIV) — 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV) — 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) — 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Allow me just to touch on a few areas of life where the devil likes to tell us that we are wasting our time. That things are not going to work out and all is vanity and vexation of spirit. Yet, I want to tell you, by the Word of God this morning that everything is going to be all right!
The Area Of Our Trials –
When the burdens of life begin to pile up on us, there us a tendency to want to throw in the towel.
The Area Of Our Salvation –
How many times has the devil, or your own flesh, tried to tell you that you are wasting your time trying calling yourself a Christian?
The Area Of The Church –
We are living in a day when people, even those who claim to be saved, are turning away from the church.
The Area Of The Future –
One of the greatest worries that occupies our minds concerns this question: What will happen in the future?
Just remember that in every area of life, Everything's Gonna Be All Right!
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) — 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) — 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) — 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Romans 8:28 (NIV) — 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) — 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Psalm 118:6–9 (NIV) — 6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? 7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies. 8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. 9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.
Romans 8:18 (NIV) — 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
