In the midst of false teaching John teaches the church that: It is only he who has the Son of God who has life; it is only the Lord Jesus who is a sufficient sacrifice for sin; The only truthful testimony we can and must believe is the testimony about the Son of God; The only life worth living is eternal life, life in the Son.
