Introduction
My name is Quan; I am a Regent university seminary student and am newly married shoutout to my wife, I want to Thank Pastor Josh for allowing me to minister to you here today. read the scripture
Tell the story of how my friends change when I had the encounter with Jesus
I was a senior in high school and was like four months away from graduating remember this time like it was yesterday. That time God as really started to work on my heart that previous day I went to Christian hip hop on encounter with God when Left that concert, soon as I got to school the next Monday I went to school I was on cloud 9, I had such a spiritual high my heart and lifestyle changed. Read the scripture; what does it mean Jesus didn't come for peace but to bring a sword
-I’ve learned quickly that Jesus and the lifestyle He requires to be a true follower and disciple of Jesus
-Jesus came to shake things up, shaken how we live comfortable , back those days nobody want to change, nor
-going back to my story I had to let go of those friends that wasn’t good for me or going the direction that God was leading me to go. Now that ive seen and heard the Lord Jesus myself and I’ve tasted and saw that he was good there were things I had to let go
10:34 Jesus’ message alone brings inherently brings conflict. The context may indicate persecution and martyrdom, but interpersonal discord also results (vv. 21–22). 10:37 Devotion to the family should not supersede allegiance to Jesus (compare Deut 33:9). 10:38 Jesus’ words here foreshadow His death and call on His followers to identify themselves fully with Him, to the point of being willing to die as He did.words here foreshadow His death and call on His followers to identify themselves fully with Him, to the point of being willing to die as He did.
Jesus said to those who would follow Him that they must also participate in putting themselves to death. His meaning, in the context of His other teachings, is that a believer must die to themselves. They must be willing to let go of their own agendas and personal dreams and ways of living..God wants a relationship with you but he also wants you to go public with your faith, even to the point of death
Jesus came not for peace but to shake things up, Jesus goes around proclaiming that he is the Son of God. then tells everyone they must repent from their sins and turn to God. naturally, Sin and pride make you hostile to the truth
many people didn't like that because she is not calling to only be your savior but also your Lord. You got to
In this passage, he’s warning believers that precaution coming to Jesus and the truth that he brings is offensive to those who are stuck in their sin and he's warning us that precaution is coming to be ready to take up your cross and follow him
Jesus must be at the center of our lives even if it goes against family and friends, Like I said with my friends i had me and my friends been walking in high school for the last four years now Jesus has made an impact in my life
shine your light so that others can see who you belong to and who’s your king. Dont hide your faith when opposition comes we must carry our Cross to the end.
;we live in a world where some people want Jesus to only be a savior but not the Lord of their lives.
I’m here to tell you that you can't have one without the other
Jesus needs to be your savior but also the Lord of your life

Matthew 10 is full of Jesus is sending out the Twelve disciples and gonna come because you follow Jesus
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Heb 4:12–13.“taking up one’s cross”—in the sense of “being prepared for trials in general for Christ’s sake,”

Important note
The life of believer who takes up His or shes cross daily is a believer who lives a surrendered life daily

Tell the story of how I wanted to be an NBA basketball
There was a time in my life I wanted nothing else but to become an NBA basketball player, right our 7 grade and then going into High save school. My big dream was go to the NBA an play for the Lakers. Lakers and Kobe Bryant were my favorite basketbal player. Also at the time we were sorry we were losing bad which give me more ambition because I wanted the Lakers to win another championship so bad I’m like not only am I going to be in the NBA but im gonna help the Lakers win another championship
My Mom told me i Had to go with her to church and my childhood pastor told me that God has called you to preach
in my mind no’ no no no’ I told him I have my mind made up im going to be a pro basketball player and play for the Lakers told that I play basketball everyday trying to get better
but he wouldnt budget saying God is calling you to be a preacher
the time came where Jesus was calling me to deny myself, die to my dreams and follow Christ
I didnt listen i still kept hanging on to the friends that God told me to let go and be okay with your friends leaving you brcause of your faith
the rest of the school year i was eating alone and i was called the church boy
(closing )
Jesus gave up his life for us so we give up our lives for him even to the point of death
Jesus endure the cross for us so that we can be right with God and also for his kingdom to come
Jesus was in the garden of GETHSEMANE, Knowing the suffering that he will have to go through in couple more hours
knowing he will be besting , mocked , spit at and put on a cross for our sin
Jesus ask God to take this cup past from me which means he plead with God to not let him go through with this suffering he’s facing.
42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Lk 22:42.
The Bible he was praying so hard that he sweat drops of blood, but he submitted his will to the father for us
so now its only right that we submit our lives to Jesus
I want to leave with this
you got only one live, that soon will past. This life that we are living is only viper
only was done for Christ will last.
Pray to end the devo
