God Establishes a Covenant
God makes a decision
Will never curse the ground because of man
This was not because man was good, but because man was evil.
Will never strike down every living creature
Will sustain the rhythms of the world.
God Gives Instructions
Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
Animals will be afraid of man.
God gives animals as food.
God institutes the death penalty.
For animals
For humans
God Repeats the Covenant
Be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.
The covenant is for Noah and his offspring.
The covenant is also for all of the animals.
The Sign of the Rainbow
Did rainbows exist before the flood?
A bow is a sign of God’s strength.
The rainbow is seen in the midst of the clouds.
Though there be rainclouds, we should have more assurance seeing the rainbow amongst the rainclouds than we have on a sunny day.
