II. What to do when you want to go nuclear – Walk to Mt. of Olives and sing.
III. Psalms 113-118 were sung by people going to Jerusalem for festivals. Sing because of God’s power. Matthew 26:30 “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.”
IV. Some verses Jesus and His disciples sang. Here are some verses that Jesus and his disciples sang. Psalm 113:7, “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.” Psalm 115:3, “Our God is in the heavens; he does everything he pleases.” Psalm 116:8, “The Lord has delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.” Psalm 118:22–24, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. The Lord has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
V. King Jehoshaphat and singing in 2 Chronicles 20.
VI. Sing because of God’s promise in Matthew 26:31-32 “Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”
VII. When everything looks dark and bleak – sing because of God’s promise.
VIII. Sing because of God’s pardon.
IX. Easter morning and Mark 16:7 “But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”
X. A son who couldn’t start the lawn mower and his father’s help.
XI. Give your stress to your heavenly Father.
XI. Instead, “Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!” Amen.
