You And God

Introduction

A. This Year, the Lord is calling us to Do Exploits. There is something in us that is crying out for great things. The spirit of apathy and mediocrity will not be permitted to operate in our lives again.

If the God who has called us is a great God, then we must dare attempt great things in His name.

Take notice, that it did not say, you go ahead and just start doing exploits.

1.You first have to know God.

Knowing God will lead you first to be strong and then you are going to carry out great exploits.

Proposition / Intent Of The Message:

We will be looking at what it means to know God.

How we can stay connected to God the right way.

Transactional Sentence:

The mystery behind real success in life in knowing God.

The key behind exploits is in KNOWING GOD.

Body Of The Sermon:

I. ENOCH

Hebrews 11:4-6 NKJV

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

[5] By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

[6] But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

a) How did it happen? Why did God take him? Because he walked with God.

How did he do it? How did Enoch do it?

b) Genesis 5:22-24 NKJV

After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. [23] So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. [24] And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

A. Enoch walked with God for 300 years.

There people doing evil in His days, but he choose to walk with God.

His grandparents might have definitely thought him about how God made man and how he communes with Adam and Eve every day in the Garden.

And by faith, He decided to walk by God.

He chooses to believe that God is there. He chooses to believe by faith that He is there and He can fellowship with Him.

He took a step of faith daily and gradually God became real to Him.

It was not that God just choose him but it was because of Enoch faith.

God is pleased by our faith.

Our faith will bring us closer to God.

That is your first step to build a relationship with God. BY FAITH

Enoch was translated because of his faith.

It was his faith that determined his translation factor

When we talking about Faith:

You don’t wait for your feelings to cooperate with your spirit.

Successful people don’t do what they feel, but successful people do what is relevant. What is necessary.

You cannot build a relationship with someone because you always feel like it.

If you are going to draw near to God, you must believe.

You must believe something about His character.

He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

II. What Does It Mean To Walk With God?

Genesis 5:22 GNT

After that, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for 300 years and had other children.

If you draw close to Him, he will respond, He will respond to you. But we draw closer to God by faith.

It took him sometime. He practiced the presence of God daily.He spent his life in close fellowship with God.

b) The enemy will try to oppose that.

The enemy hate your walk with God.

The flesh will say “ I don’t have time to pray” “ I have so much to do today”

That is how the minds works.

But when the Lord was dealing with me about busy schedule, He told me that” everything should first start with Hm”

When we spend time with God, most of the things we think we have to fix will be taken care off.

Some of the things we think we have to do, we rush and end up wasting gas, money, time, energy. If we learn to spend time in His presence, He takes care of things for us. ( First lady first thought about that)

Many of us don’t commune with God on daily basis.

Some only think about Him when its Sunday

c) Practicing the presence of God

God wants to commune with you all the time.

He wants to be in your consciousness.

Prov 3:5

In all your waysacknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.

When the Lord is directing your path, you are at the right place at the right time.

We end up at the wrong place at the wrong time, because we are not depending on the Lord.

Enoch practiced his relationship with God on daily basis.

He did it by faith. Not by feelings.

When we take the time acknowledge God in everything, He will be there.

If you do things that you shouldn’t do, you are in the wrong place.

📷 God does not hate you, but you are out of place. Always at the wrong place.

📷 The devil wants to hurt you. So, he always tries to push us to the place where we are not supposed to be.

📷 He come to kill, steal and destroy.

d) c) Practicing the presence of God 2

James 4:7-8 GNT

So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you. [8] Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites!

The key to walk with Him is to submit to Him.

Enoch drew near to God. He submited

Enoch did it by faith.

📷 He did not know it all but he just believes it. And he did it.

📷 He believes that God exist. He believed that God will hear him.

📷 He believed that God will respond to Him.

And God will reward the seeking of Him

Hebrews 11:6 GNT

No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him.

📷 If you decide is useless to go to church

📷 It’s useless to read the bible etc. You abandon God

Prov 3:5

….. In all your ways you acknowledge Him.

That is also a form of submission.

As a child of God, you can’t walk in faith and walk in pride.

If you walking by faith, you humble yourself before Him and you acknowledge Him in all your ways.

Walking with God means you not doing it alone.

Not making our own plans, or doing our own thing.

It is foolish to do it without the lord.

You cannot know enough to always make the right decision. Because you don’t know the future.

Enoch reaches out to God

He made a decision to believe

You got to reach out by faith

Jesus said you got to seek.

God is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him.

Enoch did not quit after a month

He did it for 300 years every day.

There were people that did evil in his time, but he practiced the presence of God.

We don’t draw near to God with our words but with our HEART.

The scriptures say that there are those that draw near to him with the mouth.

We walk with God by putting your mind on Him and it will connect to your heart.

And you can just be there.

Focus on Him.

What you put your mind on will begin to be a real manifestation.

If you put your mind on the wrong things, guess what?

If you put your mind on Him, before you realize you talk about Him. His goodness etc

And what happens, you begin to feel His presence.

If you are depressed, worried, discouraged, is because your mind is on the wrong place.

God wants to communicate with you 24/7

He wants you to wake up you think about Him all day.

He wants you to go to work, thinking about Him.

All through the day you acknowledge Him.

You thank Him for life.

You don’t have to say it laud for him to hear you.

He is right inside of you.. He can hear you.

Make up your mind that you are going to walk with the Lord.

If Enoch walked with the lORD, how much you in a better covenant.
