Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.
At the beginning of this book, the Acts of the Apostles, we’re thankful for the multiple translations of this book, but if we look at this book very closely instead of calling it the Acts of the Apostles we would call this book the Acts of God. Through the act of God we see the Holy Ghost sweep through the upper room in Acts 2 and as a result we see that Holy Ghost sat upon each and every individual that was received this move of God. Whenever there is a tremendous move of God the enemy is pulverized by that experience. In most instances the enemy does not mind if you come to church for the experience, some individuals come to church because sometimes this is something that you would do on a Sunday morning. But the problem for the enemy comes when you come to church looking for an experience of God. In this book we constantly see that the apostles and believers constantly returned to Jerusalem and wanted to go back to the place where they experience this move of God. What they did not realize that this move of God was a launching pad that was supposed to position them to where they needed to be. As of result of them coming back time after time, trying to seek God in the same place instead of trusting the experience was attached to their relationship with God. Persecution came to shake them out of the religious system that was beginning to be set up. Persecution is not always a bad thing people of God. Sometimes persecution comes to place you in the position where you can be used by God. I don’t know about you but if I never heeded to the voice of God quickly there would emerge persecution my way to help auto-correct my course. What we also must understand that those who persecute us are agents of the Lord. God uses the persecution place us in the correction direction of God . For example in Genesis when Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery it looked bad but God turn the situation around for good. Persecution caused Philip to be shaken out of the religious board room and be put in the place where he can be truly used by God. The Bible says and then Philip went down to Samaria, out the depths of persecution .It does not matter who ushers you into your next move of God as long as you make into that great move of God. Then Philip went down into Samaria out of the depths of persecution. some of the things you’re crying about now , you’re going to shout about it later. Samaria was the place we were introduced to when Jesue interacted with the woman at the well. When Jesus interacted with the woman in Samaria we see that he tells her that the hour cometeth and now is that they that worship me should worship me in spirit and in truth. Lets take a look at this, the Hour cometh and now is, when broken down for us to understand, A lot of times we thank God for the idea of a breakthrough, or the idea of our healing, or the idea of salvation but now you are getting ready to come across the moment where your breakthrough is here, your healing is here, your deliverance is here. I know what I may have shared may have gone over 30% of the people’s heads but if you caught on to what I said, turn to your neighbor and tell them its coming, it coming, my breakthrough is coming, my healing is coming, my deliverance is coming. The problem arises because at the same time Simon the sorcerer was in the city and many in the city proclaimed that he was something great. We must understand that anytime there is an incredible move of God, that the enemy has to come in and try to maintain his foothold or control. Simon the sorcerer had the city of Samaria all bound up but the one thing that we know is that when the Holy Ghost, whenever God’s glory shows up on the scene something has to change, and we see healing, deliverance, salvation and great joy hit that city. The other thing that I wanted to point out is that this move of God did not require an army or a whole lot of people, it only took one man. In the Bible it took one man by the name of Adam, that through Adam, Eve was able to emerge and through Eve the family was able to emerge. In the Bible it took one man by the name of Moses who stood up to Pharoah and proclaimed to him the words of God let my People go, it took one man by the name of Joseph through him there was deliverance for not only his family but also children of Israel. One man by the name of David that stood up against Goliath that despite everyone else being afraid but David knowing if God be for me who can stand against me. That why the enemy is always after the one man. That’s why he Was constantly against you Apostle Steve because recognizes something great, because if you were able to recognize your potential, you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness. That’s why the enemy attacked me the way he attacked me. He knew that if Chris recognizes his role in the kingdom then he would be a threat to the kingdom of darkness. That’s why my Mom constantly tells me that the devil has been after you your entire life. So now we are at the moment now for this entire week it just seemed that there has just been attack after attack on God’s people but i want you to understand that that enemy wants to try and have us to avoid the encounter of God’s presence. Because when we’re filled with God’s glory that it will not only hit us but the residue of God’s glory will hit not only you but everyone connected to you. So I thank God for bringing me through this fire to put in place to stand in the place to help change this atmosphere for God’s glory. What you must understand, we go hard in worship because most times it is the results of the multiple things we had to overcome this week so that we can stand up every single week. I don’t envy the position our Pastor i
